Is there anyone out there who has heard from their sailor? I know the call will come later this evening, but I know some sailors are texting on the bus. Mine just sent me a short message. No response. Don't know if he is on the bus or still at the airport. Just wondered what everyone else is hearing.

You're probably just a day behind.  Don't worry.  I feel like the box and the letter are ahead of schedule anyway and they did send us lots of pictures!!!

Hang in there.

what uniform will our guys be wearing.... I'm guessing it's probably the yellow shirt and shorts?  Didn't see my guy....BUT today I got the letter!

They are in sweats and/or PT gear during P-days and then NWU (digies) after P-days except for PT.

HI!!! Any info?

I am so ancious to receive my son's letter!!!

I meant anxious. Sorry!

I am anxious too!!  Hopefully our letter will come today!!

Hi everyone, I'm new to this, but wanted to say hello and give an update. I'm not a mother of an SR, but I am in a serious relationship with my boyfriend who left May 6th. I just wanted to let everyone know he was able to call me yesterday, (just to inform me about our bill payment being set up), but more importantly he said when he gets a chance to write a letter he would. I'm assuming whichever division he is in they haven't had much time to write their first letter during P-days. So if you're anxiously waiting for your SR's first letter it might not come until mid to late next week, maybe even the following week.. Maybe. my SR sounded very frazzled and rushed, I'm his CO was standing right next to him making sure he stuck to the topic. Anyways, hang in their Navy moms our SR are definitely thinking about all of us <3

Recruits aren't permitted to write except on holiday routine at first. The first holiday routine is the second (third for some unlucky enough to have 10 Fridays) Sunday after arrival. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC and Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit.

My husband called today! I am over the moon excited! He called for some frustrating news, but hearing his voice was the best thing I have ever heard. He called because his students loans ended up denying him his security clearance for his rate. So he now has to choose a new rate. They let him call me to discuss his options. He didn't know actual rate options but he now can choose between reserves and active. Such a big move! However I got to ask him about his PIR date since my form letter has yet to come in! His PIR is 7/2/15!!! So excited! He said my letter should be here any day now and he gets to make his first social call on Saturday!!! I didn't think to ask his division! Today is the best day ever! I hope everyone else enjoys their first call from their sailor!

Keep checking PIR 07/02/2015 TG 34 and join when it is up.

yay!! that makes me so happy for you Bisousmommy! When my boyfriend called on Wednesday it was the best feeling in the world as well! I'm happy you got to talk to your husband :)
