Hi! What happens graduation day? I know we go to the base to celebrate but what time does it start/end? It sounds like we get to take our sailors out for dinner but what time do they have to be back? I'm trying to figure out how much time we have and if we should make dinner reservations...and any other plans? (My sons Dad and I are staying at different hotels so I need to figure out the best way to do this - we are only staying 5 miles apart so it should be easy). Also I heard we should find out what "row" our sailor will be in for the ceremony so we get seated properly at graduation. How do we find that out? Thanks so much!

I've read a couple places that after graduation my recruit won't be able to kiss me out in public? lol sorry that its a weird question. I've just read that they are only allowed to do a peck on the cheek and i can only hold his arm. I just wanted to know if thats true or not! I want to know if i'll be able to really hug my boyfriend right after graduation or what aha
Yes, that is correct to a point. You are able to give your Sailor (he's no longer a recruit at that point) a hug and a kiss in the Drill Hall; the Navy does realize you've been apart for 8 weeks, but do keep it short and sweet and don't embarrass him or you. Walk on his left side so that his right hand is always available to salute and yes, you can put your hand on his arm--no holding hands in public. Once you leave the Drill Hall, you will have to save the hugs and kisses for behind closed doors.
You are very welcome.
