While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Angie - I posted a welcome to you on your profile page and also on the BC Mom group page down in our Comment Wall section. That is the best place to ask your questions as more members are likely to see it and reply to you.
As for phone calls, just know that no phone calls are guaranteed, and sometimes SRs are doing other jobs when their division is able to go to the phone bank. So, if you do not receive a phone call from your SR do not stress. We have a saying around here, "No News is Good News". I believe my son's first phone call came on a Saturday after he had been there for about 3 weeks, so you have another week or so to go.
We always recommend that you keep your phone close by you, ringer on loud, and that you answer all calls. Since they are using a calling card, the number may not show up as from the IL area. In fact, I think my son's first call showed up from some other origin that was associated with the calling card. If you think you might miss a call, you may want to change your voicemail message to something that will tell your son that you love him and who to call if you are not able to answer. Hopefully, he has several phone numbers memorized or on a notecard in his wallet. I would not leave other phone numbers on your voicemail, so a random caller would have those.

Angie -- Welcome. I think you may be in good company on the Main BC page. If my "best Guess" dates are right you may be with Lara, BabySharkMom & NucMomTami. Come to the main page and say Hi.
As for the phone call -- They should call around training Week 3. It seems that some have been calling sooner than that. I KNOW this is sooooo hard but this is also training for when they are at sea and they simply CAN'T call!! Please KNOW that if there is any change they WILL be required to reach someone back home, who knows they are at Boot Camp. You cannot call them at any point in their Boot Camp training. IF there is an emergency you will need to contact the red cross. If you need that info please let me know and I'll post the info straight away. -
