For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi! My son is also Ship 13, Division 159. Recieved his "box" and then the letter with grad. info. and a few lines. He said "It was easy, blah blah blah", and then he said " tell everyone I said hi, and to make sure they only send letters with white envelopes, he wanted me to remind all his friends whats accepted in the mail and whats not. I know that had to be the 3rd day of processing week. I wonder if he still feels the same way about being easy. Look forward to the first call. Sent him bunch of mail.

Hi Ellen, I got that info. on the envelopes somewhere here on Navy for Moms, also no food packages, because the RDC's will either eat it in front of everyone or make your recruit eat it all at once in front of everyone, and if they recieve a musical card, they get teased, A LOT. Also any envelope that is thick because of extra things we want to send, like photos, or writing paper, etc. they make them open it in front of them. I just sent my recruit some stamps and paper and photos of a snowstorm. I think he will enjoy seeing something from home.

Hi Donna, I checked the Boot Camp Family guide from bootcamp.navy.mil last night and it said that cards are OK, although they did mention that musical cards may make them feel uncomfortable. So I guess I'll save the "Hoops and YoYo" card I bought until the very end. ; ) There was no mention of a "white envelope" only requirement.
My son told us repeatedly before he left NOT to send him a care package, because you know as moms that's what we want to do! My husband was in the Navy so he knew what would happen if I sent one, along with every other veteran we know. I guess we'll just have to wait another few weeks to start mothering them again. : ) -

Yes I am wondering if he thinks its easy now too...lol
I remember boot camp ..you know back in the stone ages my lil on would say....and it wasnt easy....but after awhile you got into a routine and at the end you looked back and thought...it wasnt that bad. You know the feeling when you are thinking about having a 2nd kid and you say to yourself...labor wasnt that bad...right??? Wrong..We just rose to the occasion.
I am biting my fingers waiting for the call. So post em when you get em..
Cant wait to hear the prospective from the different individuals.....I know on my side there will be tears...just to hear her voice. (silent tears cuz I dont want to get her started)
Im not sure where I will be staying yet. But I think I will go to the meet and greet! I think why not. We are all in the same boat...excited and proud!!
I asked my mom what she felt when she saw me graduate from bootcamp..and she said Everything just caught in my throat as soon as she saw me....Proud, amazed and a lil sad because she knew this chapter was the start of me being an adult and not needing her as much....Which of course made me cry again thinking of my daughter! -

Andrew just called to get more info. I told him that I had hoped to get a call this weekend and he said that may not happen because the division isn't doing too well. They also didn't get mail this week because of this. To say I'm disheartened is an understatement. I told him to go kick butt and get them in shape! Hopefully things will get better.

I agree with you Carolyn. They need ecouragement. Guess they have to learn team work and earn the privalge.
