I got mail today too...just love Thursdays!!! Nick talked about the pistols and said they are all excited to play "laser tag" this week. He said they are very busy and although the division earned a second call...he was doing his laundry so didn't get to make his and doesn't know if he gets to use it later or not. I LOVE the Navy!!! This is another son that never knew what a washing machine or iron looked like!!!

He talked alot about his A school, he is staying there for AE/FC (which is exactly what his dad did for 10 yrs.) and he will be there 30+ weeks and the grad 'n go orders that the whole divsion got. He said he is trying to stay focused on studies and inspections for his bed, locker and uniforms.

He also asked if we would send him a few dollars, said that every now and then someone gets to go over to the exchange and they are able to pick up stuff for their division mates so he asked for some one and five dollar bills. I don't know about the rest of you but our recruiter had said not to go with more than $10 and he followed his instructions to the T.

He also asked for more stamps, he left with a book of them but is trying to write all the extended family even if just a brief line or two. He wrote my 80 year old father yesterday and I think my dad called everyone that had a phone and read them his letter~!

So thankful to have mail today and hope that it will hold me over for ANOTHER week but ladies...PIR is getting closer each day!!! Hope your mail is kind to each of you!

hi Mary, love those letters..i look forward to thurs too...and the letters other moms recieve. Justin also mentioned they had a busy week. Lots of inspections and the 2nd physical test. I pray they all do well, it could mean a phone call....PLEASE!!! My son also wrote his granparents. They were very surprised and happy. He usually gets out three letters on Sundays. I am proud to say he hasn't missed a week with me. I am on a "mail streak" this week..sending out 8 straight days now....hoping to lift his spirits! I have sent stamps twice, but didnt know they neede any money. I thought they had access to thier accounts. I know he left with money in the bank. I will have to see if he needs some??? Good to hear from you.
Linda, I know Nick has money in his account but from what I can tell, they can only had cash over to whoever makes the Nex run. I will tell our son is CHEAP, he doesn't spend money and never asks for money so when he asked if we could send a few singles and a five...I was quick to accomodate! I know once they finish battle stations they get some opportunity to go to Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut, my nephew ate at Taco Bell 3 x in one day!!! But they took his debit card, so i send Nick a few dollars today. I am happy that I have gotten a letter every week too but he was been trying to write some of the other families which has made many people happy this week. I am just hoping/wishing for that next phone call but every day we get closer to GL :-)
Cheryl, why do you think it is hitting you harder this week? I'm actually feeling better than I have been...we are down to less than 30 days, heck 4 weeks from now we will be sitting in GL ourselves and hoping the snow is over!!! I am feeling very lucky that we have received a letter each week and a phone call or so and it's been all good, no complaints - not that Nick ever complained but he seemed jazzed about moving into the pistol range and such. The end is getting closer everyday hang in there.
