For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

A month till bootcamp
I'm trying to understand what is going through my husband and my parents minds as I prepare for this trip.
I know as a shipper I am constantly going over my need to knows in preparation for my PQS on Wednesday and working out all the time to be sure I'm physically prepared. I don't know about being completely mentally prepared but I also know that I can do this and that I am strong enough to do it. There are still doubts especially because I've had a rough year. I just keep going over everything in my head and weighing the pros and cons and of course the pros win lol.
So help me in knowing what is going through the mom heads of yours.

i think the best group for you to be in is Boot Camp for Moms...there you will really see what goes on. For me and for many moms it is all about letting go. You have been part of our lives for so long, just a phone call away, or a car ride. We could see your face and hear your voice. If you were sick we would know and be able to help. If you needed something we could step in. When we wave goodbye, we have to let go and let God and that is really tough. We wait by the phone and check the mail. We worry that you are well and that you are being treated well. We want to know you are getting enough sleep and enough to eat. We know you are following your dream and we want that for you, but for us it is sad to see our child go and an adult return.
Spend time with those you love. Make memories and find a way to connect even when you are gone. For my son and I, we new that at 10 Pm everynight we would connect heart to heart and that I would stop and just be, praying for him and he would know I was there believing in him and with him. I think it brought comfort to both of us. He left me several cards to be opened at various times while he was gone. This really helped with the connection. I hope this helps. When you get a chance at boot camp write and make sure your husband and your parents are on the same team and share any and all information. Finally encourage both of them to be a part of this website. Your husband will find that the moms here will give him much encouragement. -
