Hi bussinbier.  I'm waiting for that call too!  When my son called after he arrived at GL he said he would be calling again in 3 weeks.  May 17 will be the 3 week mark for him.  I'm getting very anxious.  I'll be praying for your son.  Hang in there.
Hi ya'll goodmorning I on line with my son's grand mother now We are trying to plan this trip to graduation. She's in New york I am in Texas...What a mess She is actually gonna get me a ticket I work at a fast food place I could never afford it she is such a blessing I am so grateful
Linda, that's wonderful!  Sounds like your grandmother is a jewel.  Hopefully we'll meet you at our son's graduation.  We have two things in common.  Ours sons are sailor recruits and we both live in Texas. Take good care and have a great day.
Meryl, my son said 2 weeks before he could call again, yours said 3 weeks. No offense but I hope mine is right. :). How old is ur sailor. Mine just turned 19. We live in Washington.
Bussinbier, that's so encouraging that your son may be calling any day now.  I'm jealous :0).   My son is also 19.  He'll be in Fire Control on a sub.  Thank you for starting this group.  We'll be able to share our thoughts, joys and fears and not feel so alone.
Well actually Meryl She's not my grandmother she is my son's grandmother his Dad is her son I call her my Mother in law..but I never married him...any way where in  Texas do you live I live in Conroe just out side Houston.                                I also hope bussinbier is right.
It's so special that you have a good relationship with your "Mother In Law".   You're a little closer to Houston than I am but not by that much.  I am in Deer Park, just east of Houston and next door to Pasadena.  I'm in Dallas visiting my daughter now but heading home this afternoon.  I'll give you a little wave as I pass through Conroe.  I'm crossing my fingers that Bussinbier is right too!
