I did the same thing. All we did was get a marriage license and went to the courthouse and got married. He did not do anything for the Navy. It was easy!!!!! Good Luck

ooh someone who KNOWS how it works!! I've been looking for you! We plan to do the same thing..something small and quick! Did you move down there with him? How long does it take for BAH to kick in? I'm going to pay and move myself after the wedding..but i just want to make sure i get enough saved up for rent before BAH

Hey ladies ive been in ur shoes not to long ago lol !! Trust me u will hear alot of different things but it not as hard as mst say .. well yes it does take alot of waiting lol.. But will be worth it in the end.. Well my husband and I got married on june 24th at the pensacola court house .. He arrived in p-cola june 6th.. We had to wait til he hit phase 2 liberty. Which in our terms just means he can leave base with a buddy when liberty is called.. Ok so once he was able to leave we made sure he had enough money to pay for my way there and home , hotel, and to get married.. Once that was done I got there took a texi straight to base and meet him. Went to sign out woth him as his liberty buddy. And took a taxi.to the court house and got married all in that day.. Now it was easier for me to do this cuz my hubbys mti let him leave at 1 before liberty was called becuz he knew he was getting married but liberty is called around 3 or 4 at times so maybe u could try and get ur sailors to ask as well but beware not all mti's are that nice.. Well im now leaving here in pensacola until our next orders.. If anyone else needs help feel free to ask .... Good luck
ATI wife, thanks!!! I'm always up for some encouraging advice. So how long does it take to get BAH?
Ive heard other wifes say it takes a while but we got married the 24 and got ours on the 15 th of july. Pretty fast for us..
great! I keep hearing so many negative things..i actually just wrote him a letter telling him how i was getting kinda anxious about it b/c people keep saying "no, you cant do that" with no real explanation. You aren't the first one to tell me you can though. I plan to drive down once he gets phase 2 as well, have a small beach wedding or courthouse wedding and plan to have a month or so of rent saved up (I'm currently working full time as a nurse and living with my mom, so i'm saving all the money i can!) I'm so excited to be a wife/navy wife and live in Pensacola for a while!
Yesthere are people like that but idk when I heard something I didnt like I would find out somewhere else lol.. Driving down cool frm where?? Its very good ur saving which I didnt do lol but its always best.. For myself it was harder to get a place cuz my credit isnt that good and a broken lease ( frm a bad break up before.) They check all that in the apts i wanted. So I ended up settling for a pretty nice and cheap duplex. Which to me is better anyway no loud people as in apts and the rent is low compared to apts here we have a good amount of.BAH left for us ...
yeah that's kinda what i'm doing too, which is why i really love hearing this from you! I live in SC, so it's an 8 hour drive for me..not too terrible i guess. Is he living with you now or having to wait for the brown bagger chit to get approved?
So sorry but wats sc ?? Girl 8 hrs is good I rode the grey hound for 14 hrs to get here lol ... My damn car broke down in huntsville, tx .. I came frm san antonio, tx .. Omg was it long but well worth it. And no girl we barely up dated our page two with the pensacola address and found out in order to apply for brown bagger u must have a car so we bought a trailblazer friday .. And will turn in the brown bagger package monday after housing sins it .. Lol I no it sounds like alot. But I pick him up everyday at liberty and drop him off every night . On the weekends he is all mine lol unless he has dog duty..
is your husband at corry station
No he is at NAS ..
lol, SC is South Carolina. I already have a car so that shouldn't be a problem for us then, huh? I can't wait!!!
