For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

After PIR
First off let me thank you for being here I greatly appreciate it. I am a bit confused as to what I can bring to him after PIR? I have read that their division is the last to come in?

The division march into the drill hall in numerical order, they make a big circle through the hall. So first in will be the ones who end up next to the door they enter from.
As far as what you can bring to them after PIR. They can basically can take nothing back with them to RTC after PIR. If staying in GL for A School they can have their phones etc after they move over to the other side for school (Friday afternoon). If they are leaving GL for school you can give them their phone etc at the airport.

Hopefully somebody can help direct me to the info I read somewhere but can't find it now...my son's PIR is Oct 5th, and he will be leaving for Pennsacola at some point, but thinks he may have to hang out for a week at GL before they are ready for him in FLA; I thought I read somewhere that there was a family nearby the base who would hold onto the SR's cell phones, or other stuff they can't take on base right away, but will need soon after (for a small fee). Can anybody give me any info about that? Thanks!

Have you talked to your son today? I spoke with mine and he said he will be staying in GL for
about a week and that he could have his phone. If you do not get an answer I would bring his
phone with you and you will find out if he can keep it with him after PIR. -
