Hi - I am looking forward to our Texas Mom’s (and other states included) on June 27 and 28!!! It is right around the corner!!!

We are still planning on going to Pappadeaux's about 7:00.
Not going to reserve the room - looks like only 14 people coming and eating and a few more did not like the menu - so were coming and not eating. Thought we could just sit together for those few people.

Will try to web-cam from the hotel later.

Saturday, June 28, we are planning on touring Galveston and Moody Gardens. We can get a group rate if we have enough people. I am going to check out Galveston this weekend and will get back to you at a meeting place so we can go to Moody Gardens as a group. I am going to look for a McDonald’s or Starbuck’s where we can visit for a little while before everyone arrives. Please check the events page later for the exact location.

Someone commented that our get together sounded like the “whose who of the Navy for Mom’s website.” I am soooo looking forward to meeting each and every one of you and any extended family that you bring.
(PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE - just tell me how many for each event!!!)

See you next weekend!! Smile pretty - lots of pictures will be taken!!!!

Hi - I am looking forward to our Texas Mom’s (and other states included) on June 27 and 28!!! It is right around the corner!!!

It is time to get the plans finalized. We wanted a restaurant where we could reserve a room - so we could mingle and visit. Since Kemah is a tourist city - the best place we found was Pappadeux’s that would allow this. I am sorry to say that there is $75 “room expenditure” for this. I am hoping that we can all pitch in a buck or two and share this expense. (Please remember that I am a single mom and a teacher - therefore, no money!!  )

I have eaten at Pappadeaux’s a few times - it is a fabulous restaurant!!
We also had to choose a “menu”. The people who responded requested the Bordeaux. That means you have a choice of (a) Char grilled Fillet Yvette - yummy, (b) Cedar Plank salmon - delicious, or (c) Crab Cakes - ok!! For more details on these items - check out the details on the events page (the menu was posted there). You will also get a salad, French bread, dessert (Crème Brulee or Key Lime Pie) and a drink. The cost (including tax and tip) is about $40.00 and some change per person.

PLEASE BRING CASH - we have to pay the restaurant as one - no separate credit or debit cards allowed!!!

I have to give the restaurant a “guaranteed final count” by 5:00 pm on June 25!! They “will not be obligated to serve or set up for more than twenty percent (20%) above the guaranteed number”. Please respond to me by Tuesday night, June 24. If you don’t get this message in time, PLEASE still make plans to come!! We have a 20% waiver!! (I will share - except my pie, too!!)

Come on people. It doesn't matter how you get here

I havn't confirmed on Moody Gardens yet. I've looked it up and tickets are $45.00 and I've read the reviews. Does someone know anything or anywhere we could get half price tickets? Or discounted tickets? Just checking.

2-Bordeaux, 2-creme brulee, don't need the appetizer, but would prefer zuchinni over alligator.
2 for Moody Gardens, we'll probably both buy a day pass.
Not sure if that's all you need Brenda, if not let me know.
Thanks for organizing this. We'll do better next year! It takes once to get this all down! You rock!

Hello. I just found your page today and am a Navy Mom from Pasadena which is about 20-30 minutes from Kemah. Would love to come Friday, June 27 to meet moms like me. Would that be OK? I see I missed the sign up date.
Thanks,
Theresa
