Thank you all for those wonderful sentiments! - Blessings to our sailors and Bravo Zulu to their commitment and integrity. ❤
Nvymom4, The Blue Candle tradition enables us to sleep at night. With all our prayers and good vibrations going out to each and every sailor it is comforting. I use an electric blue bulb candle (single Christmas candle.) Sometimes when my sailor is involved in an overnight operation the candle is on 24/7. I use the candle to talk to my sailor. Wish that he has had a good meal and enjoyed the company of those around him.
At night it allows us to say "Good Night" to our sailor as if he were here with us. Very powerful this Blue Candle. It also brings us closer together as a "Navy Family!"
My son enlisted October 2012. Not a long time but it feels like an eternity to us.
Thankyou Storymom for providing us with the "Blue Candle group!"
"Happy Mother's Day! Mom's are special!
Our Blue candle is on and shining brightly for all our sailors. Prayers and good vibrations to all of our fine men and women who are serving our country.
A "Blue Candle" reminds us to say a prayer and to send out good vibrations to all our sailors, everyday. Also a chance to include friends who are having difficulty in their lives and need our support, thoughts and prayers.
encourager,
You purchase a blue candle of any type and size and light it at home as a constant "sending up prayers and good wishes" for your sailor. Some people will make a little area with a picture of their sailor and any other objects that bring warm memories of them. Or you can use an electric candle with a blue bulb. I have a blue candle I burn during the day and at night I have a small lamp with a blue bulb on a timer to be on all night!! It's whatever brings you comfort!!!
I didn't realize this event was here. I missed my Sailor this past Friday and posted a blue candle on my Facebook timeline. As I am still learning about this website, please let me know where I can post a candle for the Sailor Recruit that I am crazy about. Thanks! Go NAVY!
Yes Storymom, my daughter is in that group there now also. I can't post on the discussion but I did appreciate reading all the comments. I will be so glad when she is done tomorrow night!!!!
