It does get easier as time goes by, just stay posutive and write positive letters, the time will go by fast and you will soon be at his PIR, this is good for him, Be proud and let him know how proud you are, your not alone in this, but like i said it does get a little easier, just keep writing those positive letters to hm, he will need your support.

I am missing my son so much.  His letter I continue to read over and over again.  There arent any words, that can replace a hug or a smile.  Trying to stay positive and be glad for PIR.  Trying to encourage, even when my heart is not in it.  I know the prize for him is good, however right now, it doesnt seem that way to me.

Kimberly.....yes it gets easier, believe me. Your boy will find his way, and that's all we want as moms for our kids, to stretch, grow and explore..and he's doing it! Yay! Cecilia- being out is tough on loved ones back home, but he's busy, he's doing what he loves...fair winds and following seas to him and his shipmates. OKSuzy: Bravo Zulu and blessings toto you and your sailor.

Missing my son.  He is on USS John C. Stennis.  I haven't heard from him for about three weeks.

Thank you Storymom..My son was sworn in also on April 9th in Miami-Dade, Fl, unfortunately I didn't get my phone 10 sec phone call until last night, because his flight was delayed 2 1/2 hours so it was very late when he arrived at the training center..I was able to keep it together on the phone, but cried for an hour afterwards as he's my only child, hope that gets easier.  We have white candles in our windows now and will be changing them to blue, thank you so much for the information.
