bamamom: Whoop Whoop and 3 Cheers for your Boy! Hope you've joined Pensacola groups (Aircrew or ?) on here to continue following/learning about what he's doing and experiencing, if you haven't already. I even put a link on my computer to the 'local weather' when my son got moved around from school to school--just to see how his days were going---too obsessive do ya think?? LOL :-)
My son made it through Boot Camp successfully and I am so proud of him. He graduated on 122112 and was able to be home for Christmas. I am so thankful for the short time I was able to spend with him. He is now at "A" school in Pensacola. He is only 3 1/2 hours away, but still missed very much. So I light a blue candle for you son, my Sailor. I love you very much.
Thanks for the suggestion. I have been missing my sailor recruit. He is in boot camp right now and I have been praying for him every time I look at the clock and think about what he may be doing. This will be another great way to keep remembering to pray. Love the event!
My son doesn't go to bc until April 8th, but I will light a candle beginning that day. Trying to wrap my ahead around all of the messages. Guess as it gets closer and he is actually at RTC it will all make sense.
nice story mommamac...made me smile :-)
I think this is a great idea, and I will make sure I go out and get a blue candle as soon as I can. Thanks for the idea!
I agree with LI mom: any blue candle will do....a tapered one, votive, or blue pillar candle, or one with Navy insignias from specialized companies?....whatever pleases you and warms your heart. Some Moms put a photo near it, or a memento of their sailor (I have his guitar pick next to my blue candle on the kitchen window sill) At night, when the rest of the family is in bed, and I'm still 'prowling around the house'-- the warm blue glow, in the family kitchen makes me smile and think of our awesome sailor! :-)
nice one, momof4 - thanks for that
Okay, I have a silly question! Are we supposed to order a special blue candle from somewhere, or will any blue candle do?
