Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

I had my share of tears this past weekend. Andy called last night from the airport in Honolulu. His real Navy adventure is finally beginning!

AS long as I don't have to work over this time, I will be there. I am keeping my fingers crossed. It has been way to long.

I will miss you this month so you won't get to see me cry. Mary is leaving at 2:00 am Tuesday morning to head back to Galveston, so we will be going to bed around 6:30 Monday evening so we can get up and see her off. Please pray for her safety as she drives this 1100 mile trip. She will be stopping in Dallas Tuesday evening at one of her college friend's homes and then drive on in to Galveston Wednesday. The ROTC activities begin Friday for the upperclassmen, and the new recruits begin their "torture" on the following Monday. At least Mary will have some time to get settled in before the activities begin. Her classes will begin on August 30th after O-week is completed. She will be home again for a couple of weeks around Christmas, so I'm hopeful that she might be here for the December dinner. I'll plan on seeing everyone in September.

Would it be ok if my son's girlfriend comes with me? She really wants to join us and I have been encouraging her to do whatever she would like to do and that she feels comfortable doing.

Dawn-her little boy will have an awesome bday...it is my bday!! Congrats to you!
