OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

April, correction. You are a sailor with experience and wisdom. Now doesn't that sound better?

I am in Beaverton, Oregon. Seattle area is about a 4 hour drive from here but as the date gets closer, keep us posted. It would be worth the drive up to see some of our kids come home.

Diane, you are right. My grandchild will be born in Anchorage around April. The plane always stops at Seattle. Is this nearby? We get to see you hug your sailor. I thought that my son was the only noncommunitative son. We should form our own group one day. I thought it would take an act of Congress to get him to talk. He is still on medical hold, and I wrote to him that I was going to contact our Congressman to see if he could move the diagnosis and treatmment along. He immediately wrote back, Not yet mom! So it DOES take the threat of Congress to get him to call.
