OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please understand that we are still hosting Navy Meet & Greet's every Thursday or the day before Graduation.  We have received many complaints from families of Navy Graduations of taxi cab drivers in the area forcing families away from the other Meet and Greet's and taking them to Sundance's Meet and Greet.  Please, understand that it is your right to be taken to any event that you wish, and not the right of the driver to take you to their choice (usually there is some benefits awarded to the driver to take you to specific meets).  Lately, we have been getting more complaints about unethical and illegal (in North Chicago) practices.  We are taking the proper actions with North Chicago mayor's office and the local police department and we have collected names of visitors who have encountered these taxi drivers.

We are not affiliated with any taxi company; and attempt to make the Navy Base and the surrounding area a safer place for all our sailors.  We also operate Full Moon Restaurant adjacent to the base and also welcome Navy families, and to give thanks to all our customers and our sailors for all their hard work, we have continued our annual Thanksgiving Free Turkey dinners to all our sailors and all our customers, 30+ year tradition with over 80,000 free Turkey dinners served!
