phantomlvr, check your My Page.

Back from seeing my DS sworn in. SO proud of him!

He's stuck at the airport - flight delays - but hoping to make it to Great Lakes tonight still.

We went up the night before and spent some time at the hotel with him - that was good - especially for his sisters (9 and 15). No one cried at MEPS...although my older girl had a hard time holding it together.

Praying for him and all the new recruits as they enter boot camp

and he's STILL at the airport...bonus is that he called to say goodnight to his sisters and DH and I got to talk to him as well.

Just got back from the hotel for dinner with him and the rest of us. I could tell that by 6:45 he was ready for us to leave. We left and about ten minutes after he sends me a sticker on the Instant Messenger!!! I was so happy! Tomorrow is the final step before he gets underway...hoping to be strong and happy for him!

mine looked so confident during the swearing-in ceremony - it made my heart proud - he's ready to go. I hope it goes well for you tomorrow

Thank you, NavyMum.  I did feel good this evening, when he was kinda waiting for dinner to be over. Ya know...like my Mom Spidey Senses could tell he was ready and that definitely gave me a good feeling.

Earlier when my husband and I dropped him off at the recruiter, we were driving home and go about 200 feet away..hahaha...my phone rings once and then stops, I look at it and it shows my sons name.  I am like, oh my God, he changed his mind...of course, he accidentally called me instead of his recruiter...but for that one second...I thought...he is not going.  I realized, that that thought was selfish of me.  I knew he was going and that he had mapped out a plan for his life and it is a good plan.  God bless our boys.

I'm anxious to receive my daughter's box and letter!!  I can't stand it already.

I'm guessing I'll get the box early next week - not expecting much in it other than his phone - he wore clothes he was planning to donate.

Looking forward to the form letter so we can make plans for graduation...not looking forward to the drive to Chicago in January though...2 days each way is a LONG drive.

My son left 11/17

Mine too...well he got sworn in yesterday and called from Great Lakes late last night.  Let our journey begin...ugh...lump in throat.

My son left this morning after swearing in ceremony. I was pretty good at first; now i am getting more and more blue.

My son left 11/17.
