In all of my son's letters, he says that he is not getting any mail, but we write him every day.  Has anyone else had this experience?  We often send more than one letter a day.  Frustrating!  (We did get a 10 minute phone call pretty early on, but that's it...)

sjr23, how long has your son been gone. I did not get my first letter till atleast 3 wks after he left. It does take alittle time for your letters to catch up with him. I would just give it more time if it has been under a few weeks and see what happens, but keep writing........he will get them.
he's been gone 6 1/2 weeks already! we did get a letter from him today that said he got letters from my students (I had them write him), but didn't mention that he had heard from us...
Are you sure you have the correct address? Are you sending your letters to the return address he puts on his letters to you? If so, I have no idea why he's not getting his mail. He certainly should have a bunch of it after 6 ½ weeks.
We are using the address he sent in the form letter. I did think to check it against what he had, but it was the same thing. The very last letter that he sent us actually mentioned the name of the ship he is on, but he's never put that in before. Maybe he just wishes he had more letters. I do think he is frustrated that his adult brothers have not written him, and that his actual mother hasn't written him nor has anyone from her family. I think that is hard on him, but all I can do is what I can do. I just try to be the kind of stepmonster that a mom should be! We are super proud of him and can't wait to see him next week!
A lot of times they hold mail back from us in boot camp. that happened to me sometimes. It's just a mind game. He knows you love him and care for him. They will give it to him eventually. Don't sweat it too much, just keep writing. LOL and make sure the division number is correct and easy to read. My ex had sent them to the wrong division and I didn't get any until week seven from him because of it. And if it is sent to the wrong place don't worry it will get to him. It will either say: missent, asmoed, or N.I.D. (not in division) it will all work out :)
Thank you for your insight! He's pretty independent, but I was getting frustrated because I was trying hard to make sure he knew we were thinking of him without going overboard. :)
