Thanks Shell, sorry it takes me so long to respond I am kinda overwhelmed but do so appreciate all the replys and support
Hi Janeen,
Great to meet another mom who has a boy at BC right now!
Marc, my son, got there last nite at 10:30 pm. He had called me at 6 pm and he hadn't left yet.
So I got another call at 10:30 pm then. Just a few words saying he got there and he had to go.
So looks like our boys will be there at the same time.
Cool
I felt so much better after I got the phone calls. I was a basket case the day before.
Carol
Hi Carol,
wow this site is so great I can't keep up with the replys but you are the first to have a child there at the same time , well Adam got there at 12midnight I think thats when he called. We will have to see if they end up on the same ship when we find out. I am trying to navagate this site there is so much! Have you been on for a while this is my first day here. I think I am still a basket case! Janeen
Hi moms...Call your kids recruiter...they can give you their addresses and Div and Ship numbers...they are assigned on the first night. The recruiters info will be accurate as to the Div and Ship...but some people have found the address to not be totally accurate BUT it is close enough that your recruit will get the mail...If fact every single letter I get has a different variation of the address. Once you have their Div and Ship # fo to this site http://www1.netc.navy.mil/nstc/rtcgl/family/upcominggrad.html
watch this site for their posted graduation date...may come up within the week...may take a week more...but it will post...then you are off to organize yourselves in a group...Good luck to you and your recruits.
I got my phone call @ 10:30 pm too. Now the long wait until the next call:-( At least my letter writing skills are being honed! My son was in DEP for eight months, but it doesn't make this any easier. Glad to have others along with me for this journey.
Hi Suzanne ,
Adam was in Dep sence January and Graduated High school June 12th and no it dosen't make it easier. I am so glad to have found this place and all the wonderfull people Janeen
My son was a DEP too, but I think I was in denial the whole time because it didn't hit me until the day before he left. It's been two weeks today since he left and I can at least function now. It gets better once you hear from them. Hang in there and search this site - it really helps! Everyone is wonderful and so encouraging. - Bonnie
Thanks Bonnie yes everyone is wonderful here its like a lifeline, even if no one is around you know they will reply when they are. Got the box just a few minutes ago.......
Janeen,
My son left on the 15th of July. I have not received the phone call but i did get the box of clothes. I can not wait to get the address. I am having such a hard time right now. My step daughter moved out on the 1st of July, my husband left for at least 2 weeks to fight fires up north and then Mikey left on the 15th. I had been pretty strong till i got the box, then that was it, i cried like a baby! I cant wait to get the address i need to send letters. maybe our boys will meet or be in the same div and ship. Hang in there and so will i

Christy
Christy, Hi wow you got that fast I guess mine may come by Monday. I felt strong until Wed morning the day he was picked up. Then my bubble bursted wheh he hugged me goodbye , the longest hug ever. So when the box comes who knows, but we can all cry together and build up together . thanks and lets all hang in there together , Janeen
Christy,
Thanks so much for posting that you got "the box". That gives me hope that my son's will be arriving early next week, along with the address. I write him each evening and just put the date on the back of the envelope so that when he gets them he'll know which one to open first.

Suzanne
Wow, cool. Now maybe some more boys together here! Am glad to see that. We can band together, LOL
Hey, Allisonmom, thanks for the heads up on the address. I did talk to Marc's recruiter yesterday and he said he won't get an address until a week. So I am going to bug him each day then if they get it the 1st nite.
Marc was just going to donate his clothes so we shall see if I get a box. He didn't take his cell phone, IPod, or anything except his wallet, phone card, and address book.
Christy, sounds like you have a lot on your plate with everyone gone. I used to fight forest fires so I know the dangers and adventures of it.
I was wondering what Marc did today. Kept thinking wonder what he was doing right then earlier today. Can't wait for a letter tho.
Carol
