not sure about the shuttle, but if you call them they can tell you. I know that they have free breakfast and some sort of evening reception. I am renting a car, i am hoping that my daughter and step-son can come with me. but not sure yet. my hubby for sure will be there.
I wish my children could come with, BUT... LISTEN TO THIS... Talk about bad timing...
Last year, my entire family... my sisters and bro-in-laws, all of my neices and nephews, my mother and I all booked a trip to Disney World from Sept 12-19th!!! What's the chances of that happening?? So, the kids will be in Disney while I'm in Chicago... and then I will fly down to meet them all on Sat night. It's very disappointing though... but thank goodness my whole family is going so the kids don't have to miss out on those first few days. It's just going to be really scary for me to do all of this traveling by myself!! lol, I am so used to having Dustin by my side all the time... This is a huge learning experience, that's for sure...
Oh my! That is crazy , and i totally understand about the whole traveling alone thing. I am used to going everywhere with my hubby, who by the way still isn't home. I am hoping to see him sometime Tuesday unless they keep him because another fire broke out in Yosemite area again, they are losing houses. It's sad.
Shannon, you will learn to love airplanes, it sounds like. LOL But you will enjoy it all! I am glad you get to do it all.
Christy, more fires? Oh dear!

So you guys already booked a flight and hotel? I have looked at flights but boy, they sure are expensive. I am going to book a flight, I think but I sure hope Marc will graduate on that date then. That is just what I worry about.
I was thinking about the Homeswood Suites tho since they do look very nice.

I hope my son will come with me but I probably will come alone. I am not too keen on travelling to Chicago alone tho I have travelled a lot but...............it sure would be nice to have company!

Carol
I haven't booked my flight yet, but I am pretty sure that I will be flying Southwest into Midland airport. It is cheaper than flying the bigger airlines... plus they have a reasonable flight down to Orlando for my return flight. The only thing is, if i decide against a rental car, a taxi is much more from Midland than O'hare...
Carol, Just make sure you get refundable tickets, and you should be fine.
I haven't booked my flight yet. I was looking online and I thought SW would be cheaper but United beat them and that was even flying into O;hare. They just don't have as easy of a cancellation policy as SW does. So I have not decided yet.
I know more fires!! I can't believe it. He has not been sent to the new one yet, he is still on one in Oroville that is almost 100% contained. I am hoping to get word tomorrow..
Hi,
i was just searching online for shuttles also i am flying into O'hare. I found one I am waiting for responds on a Rate from the airport to the Hotel. I will let you know it should be cheaper then a Cab. it's Go Express Shuttle. They do service the Waukegan area too. I will let you know as soon as i get the Quote.
Kris
Hi,

just got reply from the shuttle service .

The fare from O'Hare to the Residence Inn in Waukegan is $47.00 for the first person in you party and $7.00 for each additional person in your party. Reservations can be made from our web site at www.airportexpress.com or by telephone toll-free at 1-888-2THEVAN.

Thank you for your interest in Airport Express.

so i assume that everywhere in the Waukegan area will be the same price. :)
Kris
Hi Tanya, good to see you here. Bet you miss your husband just as much as we miss our sons!
A call at anytime is better than nothing I have found.

Kirsten, thanks for the information on the shuttle. I think I am going to rent a car tho. But everyone says to rent one in Waukegan so............maybe the shuttle will be for going to the hotel and then get a car in town. Tons of decions to make.....................

Carol
Our daughter arrived at 12:30 EST, I think she is very equipped with the reality of what to expect from boot camp. She comes from a LONG line of Marine ( her father, 8 uncles, 2 cousins and her grandfather) Just hope she can take the pressure.
my son called 0050 chicago time this morning but called his gram as it had to be collect. He said he was okay. Why is your son hurting?
