My son just switched jobs to be a MAA. Tell me something about it. He is in Virginia Beach for A-school. Should I go to that graduation? Expense is a problem for me. Driving is really not an option and air fare is so high.

I'm not sure what the abrv. you have are. I cant find them anywhere. But training with the Marines is very common. The Marines are part of " The Department of United States Navy. My son is doing marine ops training this week. They share bases and they have marines training cadets at the academy in Annapolis. If you find out what the LIM or LI means please let me know. I like to TRY and learn what they mean. Thanks Melissa

I think he said Light infantry, I know he said it was infantry, that is as far as we got before he had to go
Oh k thanks. They have so many differant areas in the MA's I can't keep remember all of them. Still learning.
Where can you find out what that means? I would love to have info about it.
Thanks Melissa, I appreciate your help.
I did not go to the graduation for my son from A-School because we had went to boot camp graduation. We also had problems because his date was changed a couple of times. I think as long as you are there for your son in spirit then that is all we can do. I did get to go see my son while he was in school and it was very hard for him to adjust. I rented a room for the 2 of us for the weekend and was able to spend time with him, however, they are so use to be told what to do and when to do it that it was hard for him to adjust to being with his mom again. I also think that he distanced himself from me somewhat because he knew I was only going to be with him for 3 days.Wish your son good luck for me and please tell him thank you for all that he is doing.
how long is A School for Master of Arms?? i have heard 6 weeks and i have hear 8 weeks. doesn anyone know??
I read it was 6 weeks but of course I'm sure as you know nothing is written in stone in the military, so I'm assuming it's still 6 weeks unless I hear otherwise.
ok. thanks, thats what he thought to:-)
My son went to A-school for MA In San Antonio. It is a 7 week program, but it varies with each individual, because if they have difficulties with certain training they move them into another group for another chance. I know my son went straight through, but some of the guys who started with him finshed a few weeks after he did.
Hey Melissa,
My son Greg wrote me and he said he is now a MAA FMF any ideas what FMF means?
