Anybody heard from their recruit today re: Battlestations?
We're still waiting to hear from my son, division 139. They had battle stations last night. When does this confirmation phone call usually happen, anyway? It's about 4 pm chicago time, we thought we would have heard by now...sigh.....

I have to ask.. what is the battle stations? Is it something that is like what the marines do, like a crucible.. when they are out in the field for so many hours, awake and eating MRE's? and when is your daughter supose to graduate?
Betty, Battlestations is a situation where you have the opportunity to use everything you learned in the last 7 weeks. Here is a Web. page on it. Just copy and paste. Also, I have alot of family in Newport News, Va.

I know you must be on pins and needles waiting for that call! We just found out today that my sons division is scheduled for next Thursday and I'm trying to figure out how I can function for the next 9 days myself! Today will be a happy night at your house - congratulation to you and your new sailor!
I have had 2 graduate from boot camp and neither of them got a call after battle stations it all depends on the RDC
do not worry it is all ok !! I promise
Got the phone call! about 1/2 hour ago! He had an hour to talk, but called some other family members after talking with me and his brother. Then he called again for 2 minutes and then had to go! He said BattleStations was cool...he's very tired, and they are all trying very hard to stay awake til 8pm tonight. Capping ceremony was neat too! Then it's lights out and they can't wait! (they get an early lights out b/c of Battlestations!)
Good, tired bunch of guys. i feel better!
Congrats to the NEW Sailor! I know you are happy as well, enjoy your travels to GL.
HURRAY!
Congratulations on your son's completion of BS. I can remember my son's call, the exhaustion in his voice, and the pride as well. Karen is right, phone calls do depend on the RDC. My son also got a two other phone calls that week before PIR. I am so happy for you and your son. Yayyyyyyy!
Barb K.
