My SR left on the 12th too.  Waiting on that form letter too.  When you get it let us know.

Got the forum letter. My Sr is on Ship 03 Div 072 and PIR is 2/17.

My son left the same day  he has a PIR day of 2/17  hes ship 03/div 071   his form letter arrived @ days before xmas. They did post some photos of a couple divisions(my sons included) on the face book page. It was a huge comfort to see he looked healthy & strong. We havent gotten a real letter yet :( wish we would soon. On the form letter he said they were not allowed to write yet. Hopefullly that changed.

My nephew is in ship 03/Div 071 too.  I found his picture too.  It was very comforting.  He wrote some positive comments on his form letter which did not come until yesterday.  We are from NC.  Where are you from?  Are you going to PIR?

we are by Cleveland, ohio. we are going to PIR. which one in the photo is your nephew?

He is on the next to last row on the left hand side as you are looking at it.  There is a black guy diagonally behind him with his head turned.  Which one is your son?

My son has the same PIR day 2/17. Also received the letter a few days before Christmas. So glad he wrote a brief note. Then I sent him all 6 letters I wrote. Now just checking info about flights and hotels. I know it will go fast.

I do not know if our form letter note was positive, or just how it is. it said

" i am not allowed to write yet, when i do u will get bunches of letters. i  have been here 1 week and 1 day now. it sure is different. the first week sucked. a bunch of people went home already. We get up early every day and stay on our feet till taps. we r not allowed to talk but we can after taps a bit. gotta go. i love you. Steven"

what did yours say?
