While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

hi my boyfriend just left today for the hotel and will be flying tomorrow to basic. same with your daughter i think?? do you know the exact graduation date yet? my bf told me 8 weeks from now but i want to be positive before booking anything!

My son checks into to the hotel today and will be leaving Jacksonville, FL about 3:30 p.m. on 3/23/2011. The recruiter told me he will have about a 24 hour layover in Atlanta and will be arrving at Great Lakes Training Center about 2:00 a.m. in the morning on Friday. Mixed emotions, excited for him but sad that this is the cutting of the apron strings.

Yes, I am. I wouldn't miss it for anything. Did you go to the airport? According to what I read the airport will allow you to go to the gate to see them off.

Her father and I were having too rough a time as it was to go to the airport. I was already bawling as it was.

I can only imagine if it was my daughter. I'm sure it's a little easier for me since it's my son that's going. I thought I would be ok but I've been a little weepy today. I'm sure tomorrow it will be be full on tears.

In this case I feel the importance of the child in your life outweighs gender on the difficulty of letting go enough for him/her to forge one's own path in life. You might still partly in shock of it actually happening. Can we help each other out during this time?

Most definitely, I'm thankful for this website. It has helped me to understand the process. I also joined the group "Boot Camp Moms". I wonder if its possible that my son and your daughter can end up on the same ship and division. I'[m not sure if men and women are trained together or separately. Once they get their assignment a group will be formed for ship and division. I've read a few of them and everyone who posts talks about when they recieve the box and letters which will give you an idea when you can expect something.
