Hello! My son goes with his recruiter also on Sunday June 16th but flys out on Monday. It is my understanding we can meet him at the airport and say goodbye. My son graduated last year and has been waiting for medical clearance from a torn ACL (football) for over a year. I’m also trying to enjoy all the time we can. My tears come and go. I’m trying to tell myself to focus on how proud his dad and I are but my momma heart struggles. He is my youngest. I feel all the feels on this one. It doesn’t help that we are totally new to the military so I’m trying to learn all I can before he goes! Never felt such mixed emotions :)

Yeah a mom in the same group...we are driving down to meps after we give him to the recruiter and will watch the last swear in and I’m not sure if we get to go to the airport or not.  I’m glad your son was finally cleared. What job will he have?

Kyle has his 1 month meeting today...I can’t believe it’s only 1 month...

well one week countdown is on - I am really struggling to control my emotions :) Cade will be a Seabee so I've also joined that group as well. Did you plan anything fun for Kyle this week before he ships out? We are having a going away party for Cade on Saturday with all our friends and family. It should be a good time. I'm hoping to plan something for just he and I these last few days just to check in and gauge his emotions. He's not much of a talker, pretty stoic so it's probably more just to make me feel better. This time has just flown by. I hope the next 9 go by as fast as the past have!

Well we had all our family here for graduation for a week, we were going to have a party last weekend but it got rained out and unfortunately I (and our family minus Kyle) has to fly to CA for out WWII war hero grandfathers funeral (the recruiter wouldn’t let Kyle go) so we will fly home on the first flight home on Saturday and enjoy the last of our time together with dinner and a good Father’s Day/going away breakfast.  Kyle and I will have lunch together tomorrow and I’m cooking all his favorite foods the last few days. Kyle is excited to be going, his roomies packed and ready.

i can’t believe our boys are leaving in a week...enjoy your last few days...

I am so sorry to hear about your grandfather. Did the recruiter say why Kyle couldn’t go? If he is home on Saturday and ready to go on Sunday I don’t understand why it would be a problem?? Gosh I can’t believe Kyle already packed up bus room! Cade has it in his list lol... he also needs to do a few little things like close down his old bank account, cancel a gym membership, etc
I still don’t even know a time Cade goes on Sunday or have any of his flight info for Monday. Is Kyle doing his final swear in on Sunday or Monday??
His recruiter said he couldn’t leave GA...We all were sad but we live video it so he could see. We drop Kyle off at 10am and he swears in on Monday. I have no other info for him. I guess I will find it all out tomorrow. Is Cade ready?
