The day before my son, Dylan, left for BC, we decided to take him out for pizza, just myself, my husband, Billy, and our other son KK.So, We drive down Market in SJ, hit Santa Clara Ave and wind around to the Alameda.  So, we have to stop for gas at the Shell Station (which I used to frequent alot, because we lived right off the Alameda).  So, Billy goes in to pay for his gas, the guy hands him a receipt, which Billy either usually throws away or stuffs in his wallet. Well, for some unknown reason, he decided to stick it in a pocket in his shirt (which, he wore a pocketed button up shirt that he hasn't worn in quite a while that had a "rock band's name" on it.... something that he wouldn't wear to anything formal, by any means).  So, when he goes to stick the receipt in his pocket, I see pull something out of his pocket. He looks shocked and almost scared.  He comes around to the side of the door and hands me something, and says.... look what I just pulled out of my pocket. It was my papa's "funeral" card with an american flag and eagle on the front and the special saying on the back.  Billy did NOT wear that shirt to the funeral, and would not carry that card around at any other time.  Papa put that there that day, purposely so Billy would find it when he was with Dylan.  (my Papa was a Navy Veteran... a Pearl Harbor Survivor).  This moment could of not been more special.  We all sat there teary eyed and in awe.  Billy gave the card to Dylan as a good luck charm to take with him to the Navy. Brings tears to my eyes thinking about it.  We all got very choked up. Papa had an agenda last night and that was his way of seeing Dylan off to something Papa took so much pride in.  <3
