My son is in Pensacola and very bored. We've talked to him several times this week and we asked how things were going and what he was doing and he said slow and nothing. He said Boot Camp kept him busy and that was what he liked.
Hi all, my son is in Groton, CT for sub school. He said he starts classes on Monday, 4-26. He spent his money on a laptop, so now we can chat on fb. So glad to be able to connect with him.
My son is in Dam Neck, VA for IS school. Only three hours from we live!
Lucky lucky you. Congrats!
My son stayed at GL for HM. He told me the first week of school went well and he's loving his new found freedom.
Hi Kelly, my son is at GL for HM too. What barrack is he in? I think mine is in 131.
Hi all- my son stayed in GL for GM (gunner's mate). He said it's going to take a while to class up. Several sailors from his div are there so he is among friends and is meeting new ones. He was at the bowling alley when he called me yesterday. He told me that he earned 1 college credit for a mandatory finance class and that he did well on the test. He wants us to send his CD's, the waiting is a little boring. He is working hard to get phase II. All in all he sounds great. I think he is somewhat suprised about the difference between bootcamp and A- School.
My son mentioned the finance class also. I think that is a good thing. He went into town Saturday and some of them took a cab and ate out. He sounded like he enjoyed it greatly.
Ashley stayed at GL she is suppose to start class this week if things don't change, she is going to be an OS.
Talked to Daniel again last night. He had just finished the Finance class and said it was good. I hope he paid close attention because it doesn't take much and your paycheck can be gone. This is more money than he is used to having at his disposal and I want him to make wise choices.
My son is also in GL for HM and doesn't start school until May 3rd. He also took the Finance Class and said he learned quite a bit. He has his cell phone and we've been able to talk, and today I mailed his laptop and hope we can use our webcams!
Well my husband's hold was not as long as we thought. He starts ATT class for FC this morning.
