For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hang in there...he'll be back before you know it! Keep in touch with his family and they can provide an address when they get it...hopefully within two weeks...but from what I have read, could be up to 3...stay strong! Be proud of your future sailor...he is doing a brave and honorable thing!

I am proud of him, so so proud. I just miss him like crazy. I feel as though his family will get annoyed with me if I call too much. I hope it isn't three weeks, two seems long enough as it is!

Don't think like that...they will understand that you miss him too. I know I would. Hang in there...you'll see him before you know it! Are you able to go to his PIR?

Nine days going and it's still tough. I am going to his PIR. His parents and I are supposed to talk about it when they get the information on it. I was going to call them soon, to see if they heard anything from him. I got a call today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy to hear his voice again!! But it only lasted two mins. I'm still kind of debating between being happy about it and being sad that it didn't last very long. I just want an address now...

It just feels like forever right now. I'm trying to stay strong for him but it's tough. How do you do it?

Just keeping busy...and writing to him everyday. Thinking about the good times and knowing that he is getting the chance to live his dream! I'm sure it is hard for him too...but it will be even harder on him if he knows you are miserable...then he can't concentrate and do what he is supposed to do. Smile and think about the good times. Smile and think about the future!

It's hard to find motivation to stay busy sometimes. There are mornings where I just want to stay in bed, even throughout the day I just feel like crawling into bed and disappearing for a while. I try to think about the future, and how much happier we'll both be after basic is done but it feels so far away. My friends at school keep saying it's not that long of a time, but when you spend each day missing the person you love most... each minute passes by so slowly, each hour just drags. It hurts.

I know exactly how you feel. My boyfriend of 16 months left on the 12th and it is really hard without him. All I can suggest is to write him whenever you feel lonely. Thats what I do. And you'll hear from him again. When we hear from our men, it'll be like heaven!! Just stay strong. :)
