Hoping for our Wednesday letter tomorrow. Will post if we do.
Sandy, I usually only get letters on Thursdays. Are you saying they do the gas chamber this week or they did it already?? I have been worried about the gas chamber. What do you mean that they got their athletic flag?? The one they made? I sure hope their divison is doing better and working together by now. They need this by 11/30!!
Hey Sandy -
I posted in the other one about them doing Marlinspike last week and coming together like a division. My daughter was so excited!! I got my letter on Monday, so I'm still waiting to hear about her PFA. I'm sure the gas chamber won't be too much of an issue - they do it and get through it :-)

Laura (Amy's Mom)
Good new Laura!!! Thanks for sharing!!
No letter today... :( sad momma
I got a letter from my son today. He sounds really good, very positive. He didn't say anything about the gas chamber. Seems like he has grown up so much in these few short weeks. . .he even thanked his Dad for always pushing him to do his best. I can't wait til graduation!!! One thing though, I have only gotten one 3 minute & 20 second phone call. Hoping for a call on Thanksgiving.

I enjoy reading all of your posts. It is a way to get a better feel for what is going on.
I've rec'd two letters from my daughter, but I missed a phone call due to no cell service where I was. She sounded cheerful and said it was easier than she expected but that the group is having a hard time working well together. I'm not sure in what area she means? I have my flights, now to find a hotel!
Hi all. I received FOUR letters from my daughter yesterday with the last one dated 11.12.10! Every one of them was so positive and upbeat. She said she loves bootcamp and cannot wait to get out in the fleet. She said the division is really working well as a team finally. She said they did Marlinspike and only received 3 "hits" (negative marks) total! That is incredible! The book I read on Navy bootcamp (Honor, Courage and Commitment: Navy Bootcamp) stated each individual recruit can only receive 3 hits total during the 12 hours of BS. If they get more than that, they fail. So, to receive 3 hits total as a division during their practice run (essentially) at Marlinspike is wonderful! She said the division may get in the Hall of Fame because of how well they are doing!

She said things are really picking up for them now. She said she has received a lot of mail lately but does not have time to read it all! So, they MUST be busy! She said she really likes all of the RDCs and that they even put on music during evening routine last week! She said they have Motivational POs and she really looks forward to what they have to say. She said during the last PFA, she held the record for the most push ups for all females in the division and she was pretty proud of that! She said first PFA she did 34, this one she did 84! She said they had a lot coming up including gas chamber and inspection. She was not so worried about the gas chamber but was VERY worried about inspection!

She said she is pretty sure she could stab her foot and not feel a thing due to all of the marching in combat boots! She said it is starting to get pretty cold and, for her, it is as we live in Phoenix! Great Lakes is the OPPOSITE of Phoenix!

All in all, she sounded awesome and said she cannot wait for PIR! She said time is just flying by!
pray4peace Thanks for info, funny how different kids have different storey's of what is happening. Its nice to hear other stories and get a bigger picture of what they are doing.
Oh thanks so much for this post!! I am so glad things are getting better for them. Girls they just always seem to have more to say - so thanks for sharing with moms of boys.lol
Has anyone received a password to print your gate pass? I am worried it's 13 more days away and it says you can print it as early as 11 days prior. Do we get that from our recruit or is it from the Navy after he gives our names to whoever you give it to? He just sent his Dad a letter yesterday but no mention of a password.
Chanmom The password was on th form letter we got with there address.
