Just got my husbands info in the mail today. Ship 14 Div 275 with a PIR date of Aug 13th. I'm so happy now. I had a countdown going from Aug 24 and when I got the news that it's the 13th, I was so excited to drop those days. I can't wait to see him! I got a few words from him at the bottom of the info letter too. Made me feel so much better. Now I have to start planning our trip to see my husband graduate!

Very close... my son is Ship 14, Div 276 with a PIR date of August 13th. I too thought it would be later, but am so excited to see him sooner :-) And to add to the excitement August 13th is also my daughters birthday, so she thinks it is SO cool that her brother will become an official Sailor on her birthday! It will be a great weekend in Chicago! We already booked our hotel, and since we're in St. Louis will just drive up.
My son is Ship 14 Div 275 and will graduate on Aug 13th also. We got the "box" with all of his things last week and we received the form letter on Saturday with a few lines written at the bottom. I felt the same relief when I read his note. Just to see his handwriting and knowing that he is okay, made me feel a whole lot better!
I have not heard anything from my son since we received the form letter last Saturday. I am waiting for a letter or even better a phone call.
I'm not sure if my son is in this Div or not but he left for BC on June 24. My daughter in law received his box yesterday but no info yet. Anyone else in my shoes?
My husband is actually getting a medical seperation due to a recurring problem with his knee. He was walking to his ship after processing with his gear on his back and when he got there and tried walking up steps, he hit the floor because his knee popped. He went to Chicago hospital and that's what the dr there said so he'll be home by the end of next week.
Oh, and he said the RDC's he had in his ship/div were assholes and that they weren't allowed to write last Sunday because everyone was messing up or something. Although they can write letters, thats when they send them out so the RDC's wouldn't let them send them out. Atleast that's what he told me.
Well that doesn't follow the saying that no news is good news. I have been waiting to hear something from my son.
My husband hasn't been with them since this past Sunday so they could be doing better. He said everyone in his division knew what they were doing and knew everything they needed to know so maybe it was just the RDC's showing them who's boss and maybe them being on a power trip or something.
I hope that is all it is. That just really worries me. My son is quiet and will do as he is told. So what will your husband do now? I was really surprised to hear your news.
He's gonna come home and find a job. Who knows what he's gonna find but he seems pretty determined to step up his game and do what he needs to do for his family. He said he didn't really like anything about it there. Who knows, we'll see what happens when he gets home at the end of next week. I'm sure your son is fine. The way he was talking it seemed like all of the guys stuck up for one another and looked out for eachother. He was only with them for a week so that didn't give him much time to really get a feel for everything.
Thank you for giving me this bit of information. You can only imagine what they are going through and with lack of communication, that can really play with your mind. In my heart I know my son is fine. All the best to your family. Please keep in touch and let me know how you are making out. BTW, my son's name is Ryan.
Please ask your husband if John Medina was in his Ship/Div ? We are still waiting to hear or get the form letter so we can write him. I'm sorry to hear about your husband's experience but I know things happen for a reason. Good Luck. Diana
