Day 15 since our kids left - can't believe it has been that long. No word yet, keep checking the mail right when I get home. Today I was listening to my voice mail and there was a message from from son a couple of weeks before he left. I made me sad and happy at the same time. It was so good to hear his voice and it was so sweet! I am sure glad I did'nt erase that one. Each day that goes by is a day closer to graduation :)
Well I have wrote everyday and was hoping for a letter today but nothing. Not feeling my best today. I find myself thinking about my son alot today. :(
Hi all - finally got a letter today! I am so happy. He sounds great. He said there are 93 guys in his unit - all special ops. He doesnt sound like he is getting too much sleep. It was 10 days old (wriiten on the 29th). Maybe the phone calls will start soon. Hang in there.
Yes I got 3 letters in one day and missed a phone call last night. I am so mad at myself. They are working hard and getting little sleep.
Hi Nan - Sorry to hear you missed the call. He will call again soon. Is your son on ship 4, div 812?
Cindy
Hello Ladies! Well it is Sunday afternoon and I could use a phone call as I am sure all of you are in the same boat! I tell ya, no letters and no calls is really making this so very tough! I feel as though I am in the Navy trying to balance, work, home emotions etc. Does anyone know if this group will be Grad n Go???? I have not gotten tickets, or reservations yet because I do not want to pay to change my return date. It would be sooooo wonderful if we could see them all weekend. Don't you all agree???? ;-) Please let me know if any of you find out anything. Thanks for your friendships and sharing your sons!!!

My son is also on ship 4 division 812. I spoke with him last Thursday. He said as a group they were doing well and is really upbeat. I am hoping to get a letter this week.
cmom,
I see your son has a rescue swimmer contract. My son is a rescue swimmer and I thought it might be helpful to you to learn more about how things go. So...go to the group "Moms of Aviation Rescue Swimmers' and click on "The road to a US Navy Rescue Swimmer" at the top and you'll learn SO much. Join the group and you'll be able to learn from us who've gone before. We have moms whose kids are still in boot camp all the way to moms like me whose sailors are going on deployment anytime now.
