Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Anyone living near Great Lakes, IL??

I just moved here from California last week to be with my husband while he is going through A school and am looking for some fellow Navy wives/girlfriends.  Would love to meet up!  :)

Hi Amber!  You know, it really just depends on how long his A school is.  I know that for me to be eligible for a Navy move, his school had to be a minimum of 6 months.  I don't know what the rules are for single guys getting to live off base during school.  If you guys are already planning on getting married, I honestly would recommend doing so before he leaves for boot camp.  It will make a LOT of things easier.  Not to mention the difference in pay.  Of course money is never a reason to get married, but like I said, if you are already planning on getting married really you might want to consider doing it now.  I don't know your situation but I thought I would just put that out there.  :)

We have been together for 7 years and have talked about marriage. He says that we can't get married before boot camp because he already signed papers saying he is going in without any dependents. I have heard differently in the if we wanted to get married we still could. I think he is afraid of asking his recruiter or doing anything that would be seen as "wrong". I'm just worried about insurance and not having any until he gets into boot camp.

He can marry, but the recruiter must re-submit the paperwork. They can get cranky about it, but they can't say "no marriage".   He should talk it over with his recruiter, and explain you aren't some new, clingy girl, but a mature woman he plans on sharing his Navy journey with, side by side.  Never fear the recruiter, they're human.  Communication does wonders with them.

Listen to Anti M!  She knows her stuff!  Seriously.  Sometimes the recruiters are not completely forth coming.  Afterall, you ar essentially creating more work for them.  But it is ok, really.  My husband and I got married when he was in the DEP program.  And it really does make a huge difference for the two of you.  Your boyfriend just needs to talk to the recruiter honestly and respectfully and it will be fine.  :)

Hi!

I don't live on base but I am there a lot seeing as we only have one car, so I am on and off the base a lot.  My husband is an FC and has already comp'd.  We will probably be here until October or later... I am a housewife and I am free pretty much all day long.  I like to work out at the gym on base or walking or jogging.  I have two dogs that love walking too :)  Just trying to connect and make some new friends while I am here.  I am so extremely bored during the day and I wanna get out more just don't really feel like going by myself. ( I had a part time job and went to school full time before I left my hometown in GA so its been a real change for me too )

My husband wants me to move to GL while he goes to A School.  I want to go too, but his school should only be about 3 months.  Is there base housing that we could live in instead of living out of an extended stay?  Would we even qualify for base housing?  I'm not sure how this works...I'm also concerned about being able to find a job when I tell them "I'm only here for 3 months..."  Thanks!!
