Hello everyone! My Nephew just arrived last night, and I wanted to see if there were any other M4M's with the same arrival date. I went through this whole boot camp thing recently. My son was in boot camp from December 14th, 2010 to February 18, 2011. It is now turn for my Nephew to succeed in the beginning of what will be an unforgettable, ever learning and experiencing journey! I wish all of your loved one's great success!

Hi

It takes two weeks before they receive your mail. As soon as you get his address send the letters and then he will be able to write on Sundays.

I just found out this evening that my nephew is in ~ ship 7 Div 170~ my sister received his form letter and she said he sounded good. (For the 4 line allowance). Any other moms, aunts, wives, etc in the same division? I'd love tgo connect with you!

Thanks,
Dee

Hey Dee, Good Morining! I FINALLY received the form letter this weekend... =D

My son is also "Ship 7 - Div. 170". It's amazing how much better I feel, just by receiving that letter! lol

I hope you have a wonderful day...

~ Virignia

We got our form letter yesterday.  Was so excited to see my son's handwriting and then let down that it was a form letter.  Didn't even see the four lines of comments at the bottom till last night when I actually read the whole thing.  Jason is in Ship 7 Div 169.  He says RTC isn't bad at all and that he is actually enjoying it.  When he signed up he had to go in on delayed entry.  He waited 9 months but it was good because he spent that nine months training and learning all his ranks and he was so excited and ready to go.  How many of you mom's have discovered the Lifetime show "Coming Home"?  It is on Sunday nights at 10 here in California.  Loved watching reunion stuff before but it has so much more meaning now.  Especially when they show the sailors.  Awesome show for a good cry!!

Yey! I'm so glad! It does make you feel better knowing they are ok. ...and they're in the same ship and division! Thats cool! I wonder if they are bunkmates?

I hope you have a wonderful day as well!

~Dee~

That would be really cool if they are bunkmates! lol... :)

Even if they aren't, I'm sure the whole division will be getting to know one another very well! (like brothers)

Will you be going to Chicago for PIR?

Hey! Virginia,

I just saw your reply... and Yes, they will get to know each other very well. It's that... or a lot of "ITS" Intensive Training Sessions. This is hard for them, but the result is teamwork. "one team one fight" this is what they need to learn.

And.. No, unfortunately i won't be making the PIR in May. I sooo wish I could go back! Especially for my nephew, who is so special to me. However, he knows I'll be with him in spirit. I took him with me when my son graduated because he was contemplating not going into the Navy due to peer pressure. I'd have to say, taking him with me, was a blessing, because he was able to see his cousin (my Son) graduate and see the change in him~ from a boy to a man. From him just wanting to make a difference in his life and this world... to knowing he could make a difference.  Now, it is my Nephew's turn. He decided, he's doing it, and he will succeed as well.

I'm sure yours will as well.

Talk to you soon!

~Dee~

That is sooo wonderful, that you were able to do that for your nephew! He's lucky to have you as his auntie!!! I still haven't heard anything from my son, aside from the form letter; but I'm sure that he's doing well... and yes, they will succeed!!!

Enjoy your week... :)

Hey! He's just loved! thats not luck!

Anyway, I talked to my sister today, and she still hasn't heard anything either. She didn't even get the "box" because He (our recruit) decided to donate everything he had on him. To what.... I don't know. But, no matter if it was for the trash, he did it with heart.

I should connect you with my sister also. She is "proudmomdee" your sons are in the same ship and division. A connection from a mom, and aunt, from within, is helpful when the letters and phone calls don't come fast enough.

Hang in there! This week is the week you will find some relief. Yey!

Take care!

~Dee~

Hi Dee!

My son had the same arrival date and I am so confused about getting information. I don't know where to stay for graduation r anything.

I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma 1 month before my son left. I receive chemo every 3 weeks for 5 hrs at a time, so I really can't do research a whole because I get sick and tired.  Can you please help me out? Time is running out til graduation and i am panicing. My name is Roxanne  I hope I hear from you!! Thank you....Roxanne

Hi Roxanne,
Of course I can help you. First of all go to page 1 of this discussion and read all the information there. There is a lot of links as well, to follow for further info.
Next, did you receive the form letter from your recruit? There should have been a brochure with that letter, that listed nearby hotels and such.
Please feel free to ask me any questions. I'll answer to the best of my knowledge and refer you to where I can't. I'll be glad to research for you. I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with your health. I'll help where I can.
~Dee

I did not receive a form letter, but I do believe my ex husband probably did, and he does not talk to me at all.

I am in the middle of divorce.

How do I get a form letter?

I booked a room at the Navy Lodge because it's the closest one to base. I found it yesterday!!

I am going to need transportation from Airport to the lodge and I do not drive, I really do not know what to do, but, I will not miss my son's graduation not in a million years.
