Hello everyone! My Nephew just arrived last night, and I wanted to see if there were any other M4M's with the same arrival date. I went through this whole boot camp thing recently. My son was in boot camp from December 14th, 2010 to February 18, 2011. It is now turn for my Nephew to succeed in the beginning of what will be an unforgettable, ever learning and experiencing journey! I wish all of your loved one's great success!

Roxanne,
Call your sons recruiter. He/she will have your sons address. The form letter is information about PIR and the date and how to get parking passes. You won't need parking passes if you're not driving. You can get around by shuttle. Get a taxi from the airport and most hotels have shuttles to and from the base. I believe they cost $6 per person each way.
Also, right next to the base is the "L" train that can take you into Chicago while your son is on Liberty. Just know, in using the shuttles and train, you are limited in terms of the schedule, of the last shuttle or train. ~which is quite early in the evening.
Are you traveling alone?

Talk to you soon.

Hi Dee,

you are such a big help and I thank you so much!!

Yes I am traveling alone, I shouldn't be, but I do not know what my son is doing with the 4th ticket. I know 3 tickets are for me, my exhusband, and my older son, but they don't talk to me. I left because of abuse, then I was diagnosed with cancer, then my son left for bootcamp, I feel so alone because my oldest son or his father could care less about me. I'm sorry, i just wanted u to understand me a little better......Thanks again, Roxanne

Roxanne,

It sounds like you have a lot to deal with all at once. This site is the best support I've found when I needed it most. It brought me closer to to people who were going through, or had gone through, what I was experiencing. I would have struggled a lot more without N4M's.

Waiting to hear something from your loved one can be trying, to say the least. But, everyone here is feeling and has felt the pain of separation. Just know, you can grow from this. It doesn't seem like it now, but, there is sunshine at the dawn of a new day... For you and your son.

Dee just went through all this. She has made some great suggestions. Many of us spent hours putting together suggestions, groups, links and hunting down info. You are in a good place to get help.

BTW, one of my husband's best friends in college was diagnosed with Hodgkins (in his 20s). He went through experimental chemo treatment. He got a divorce. He remarried. At the age of 38, his wife got pregnant with triplets. Stay positive!

Thanks for your imput. That's a great story. Its amazing how healing positive energy can be.
~Dee~
