My son swore in yesterday and has a date of August 12th for BMT.  His contract is for Aviation Ordnanceman (AO).  He is super excited. I am feeling emotional and overwhelmed.  Anyone else have a son leaving on August 12th, 2015?

Hi luvmysailor-

My son is leaving Aug 13 after his date was moved up by almost 3months. We just found out on Monday with 10days notice. Maybe our sons will meet in bootcamp.

Thinking of you-

We just dropped off our son at the hotel today. Then we will see him in the MEPS tomorrow. We were told that we can't go to the airport because we can't even see him there! Wow! This is really happening now!!!

Doing the same today leomom65. Thinking of you.

Yesterday was definitely an emotional day! Got the I am safe scripted call around 1030 last night. Missing my boy this morning. But one day closer to PIR
Same thing here...it's still so emotional but we all have to stay strong for our future sailors. We got the call last night at around 2100. My husband broke down to tears when he passed by our son's room. My tears just kept flowing my cheeks. Our older son cried a lot before his brother left for the airport.

Tuff last 2 days.  We received a call when they landed and a text.  I received my final call at 11:45 when he arrived on base.  Counting the days to receive my box and form letter.  Hang in there mommas!

I am right there with ya. Moments of sadness tend to overwhelm me... cannot wait for the box and letter...
Ok precious mommas have any of you received a letter or box yet? I know I am probably early but I am anxious as i am sure you all are...

I am anxious too. My husband left on the 12th. We've never been apart for so long :( can't wait to get a letter and receive the box as well.

chelie20, I left info for you on your My Page.

Hi Ladies-

Hope everyone is hanging in there-it's been a LONG first weekend without my son! My 12yr old and I are missing him so much but we are trying to keep each other busy. I think I will feel better once we get that first phone call and letter home. Just want to know he is doing ok.

Thinking and praying for all of you

DHDNavyMom

Its been a long weekend for us to. We are anxious to know his PIR date and address so we can start writing him. Praying is definitely a way for us to get through this.
