My son is going to Boston on Aug 30th and shipping out on August 31st for BC anyone else going to be up there at this time? I hear they let us come up for the final swear-in and they walk out one door and we another - Bringing a box of Kleenex ;(  He'll be attending A School right after graduation at Great Lakes for DC.

Why is this summer going so fast?  If they could only stay little - but I don't care how old they get they'll always be my baby and pride and joy.  Praying for strength to get me through this but yet trying to make the most of what time we have left. (while hiding tears)

Well I got one phone call while he was hanging at Logan his flight left about 4pm - My husband and I had a wake and figured he'll be calling again when he reached Chicago about 9. We got home at 8:30 and I was sooo upset that we missed his call.  Knowing he gets a call from Boot Camp and what I read was about 12:30am - I woke up at 1:15 upset that he did not call.  Dozed off and the phone rang at 2:37am - what a quick cal -

but I too can't stop thinking about what they are doing now - did he get enough sleep? what time did they have to wake up etc.  I'll be writting him daily and will get his address on Tuesday. And yes we will do this - Counting everyday ;)

I won't be getting a box with his clothes since he wore old stuff that he will donate (why spend $15 on postage when he cleaned out his closet and draws) LOL. He did hand me his cell phone prior to our goodbyes. I posted the pics of FB and have gotten so muchsupport.  Hang tough - remember they are doing what they wanted to do - and this too shall pass - our babies will turn ino men overnight - Sending Hugs

We dropped our son off on August 30 with his recruiter, it was not easy.   The only thing he took with him was his cell phone.  He spent the night in Miami, Fl before flying out on August 31 to bootcamp.  I am so glad he had his cell phone because we spoke for hours on the evening of the 30.   When he arrived in Chicago at 6pm he was still speaking with me, we had said our goodbyes so we were just talking about so many things, and to be honest the conversations were great.   We ended our conversation about 730pm.   We got "The call" about 9pm that he arrived, short and sweet.  I will now be waiting for the box.

This is his dream and we will support him in any way we can.   I wish all of you the best as I know this will be long and ongoing.   I pray they all stay safe and I just want to say I am proud of all of our young men and woman that join the Navy.
