Its been a while since I poster here. I want to assure you new Navy Moms that the ride is truly a short one and that its worth the wait. You'll here from your loved ones soon enough.
Until then I encourage you to find a way to enjoy the ride. There's a thread on this forum called the "Top Ten Lines Home From Boot Camp". Its hysterical and in fact, inspired me to blog on it. Boot Camp Letters: Funny and Poignant Lines.
Good job. Brought back memories.
Glad a paragraph from my son's first letter from OCS made it to your blog.
"If you value my life, do not send any correspondence except in a plain, white envelope with letter written in plain white paper. Use black or blue ink. No articles. No cards. No perfumed stuff of any kind. No packages. Do not call anyone to get a phone number to call me. Mom, I mean it."
His letter caught me just in time. I had phone numbers to Senators, Congressmen, Representatives, Navy staff right up the chain of command and much more ready to go. How well he knows his momma. His father was very blase, "Why worry? If something bad happens, who else would they call?"
oh geez.. My kid's in Pensacola. I think my wife was ready to call out the National Guard with some of the weather they've had recently.
