Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

The RTC Facebook page has an announcement about the "Adopt-A-Sailor" opportunity for TGs graduating 31 Dec and 9 Jan. I am trying to understand the lengthy post and am hoping somebody can help. The way I read it, SRs have 3 options:
Am I missing anything? Does anyone have further details?

All Recruits from the TG 08 - PIR 12/31/2014 and TG 09 PIR 01/09/2015 will be adopted out, either by immediate Family or Host Organization, on Christmas Day. None will be left behind.
Immediate Family wishing to Adopt their Recruit off base for the day must have received, filled out and faxed and/or emailed a copy of the Yellow Form sent by their Recruit. You are sent a confirmation once RTC receives it. No surprise pick ups, it won't be allowed.
They are allowed to bring one other Shipmate (of the same gender) along with them and they must be listed on the Form as well.
Those at Host Organizations will be bussed out in groups to enjoy themselves with a great meal and cell phones and computer time are often provided for them to contact loved ones. So if you are not able to adopt your Recruit, keep your cell phone handy and check social media/email for contact.
I just added a post with RTC FB info and some additional tips onto the 12/31 and 01/09 PIR groups.

They're identical...just thought it would be nice for those to go to their own PIR GROUP :-)
