For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

boot camp Feb 22/23rd Anyone?????
Hello all,
does anyone else have a loved one leaving for boot camp Feb 22nd (for meps) and flying out Feb 23rd.
the love of my life is being picked up the 22nd. needing of support. going through DEP and having him here for the time I have has been amazing but i am now having a very hard time letting him go and knowing it will all be okay.

My boyfriend (7 years) left that same day. He is in SHIP 03 DIV 144 and will be going to Pensacola for A school for IT.
I understand what you are saying about knowing everything will be okay. I worry about him everyday. I'm very anxious to start getting his letters.. hopefully soon. Have you had much contact with your recruit?

I stay busy! I'm a Kindergarten teacher, so I have 14 "children" that always keep me on my toes. I'm extremely lucky I've gotten to talk to Michael as much as I have. I write everyday, so it's like I'm talking to him. I'm just waiting for him to "talk" back. :\

My boyfriend left for boot camp on 2/22!! I just got my first letters from him yesterday. I was so happy! I haven't gotten a phone call yet, but according to his letter he "might" get to call this weekend, but he is unsure. I know exactly how you feel. I have been with my boyfriend for 3 years now and we have been living together for about 2 years. So I would see and talk to him everyday. I miss him very much right before bed and early in the morning. But during those first few days all I could do was cry. But what helped me was writing him. I bought a notebook just so I could write him letters. Even though I couldn't talk to him everyday I felt like I was by writing him. Everyday I have struggles but I find it easier to have a good support group of friends and to know that 8 weeks isn't that long and that he is going to come out a better man than ever before. My boyfriend is ship 3 Division 141

My boyfriend is in Ship 03, Div 144. I'm so surprised I've been able to talk on the phone with Michael as much as I have. Twice on Friday, March 4th, and the Saturday before that. He just started sending letters yesterday. As of Tuesday March 8th, he had not received the letters I sent him on Friday March 4th. ? :( Hope he got them today.
