DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

My son is graduating from Boot Camp at the end of this week.  I've looked at several You Tube videos to see what is normally worn for this event.  I have seen women in everything from jeans to dresses, and want to know what is the most appropriate considering we may be on our feet for an extended period of time and that the weather in IL tends to be very humid compared to Colorado.  Any thoughts?

Dress comfotably but dress nicely. You will see everything from Sunday best to short shorts mini skirts to faded blue jeans and biker shirts.

If I were you I'd join your PIR group...read some of the discussions for info about PIR attire what to bring etc (click on view all in the discussion forum) Here is the link to your PIR group, just click on the http address http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pirdate730
Thanks for the help. Truly appreciate it. How far a walk is it if we take our hotel shuttle to the building where PIR is?
about 10-15 minutes. Level...sidewalks. I don't think my feet touched the ground once during that walk
You will be seated in an airconditioned garage type building. Sitting on bleachers for a few hours , not much time on your feet. Just the walking to and fro
I feel like it's such a important milestone in my son's life we wanted to dress nice, my husband and other son wore suits and I wore a grey suit with a navy blue blouse and we all had US Flag lapel pins, the pictures turned out nice and I'm glad we did.
