You may wish to join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in December. You will meet others with loved ones leaving that day/week who may be in the same TG and have PIR together. Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month Before Your Future Sailor Leaves for.... I also suggest you join New Members Stop Here, Boot Camp Moms, and PIR Reference Information and check out the Pages and Discussions there.

Your future Sailor may want to join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view. Craig runs that and will steer you to some good links on there.

Hello.. My son also left dec. 2nd.. New to this site.. Not sure how it works?? I just can't wait to hear how he's doing..

Thanks for jumping in.  He is doing fine.  "No news is good news!"

You may want to check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvKAhmgkoj4 and http://www.navydep.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433. They will give you an idea of what is happening.

You may want to join, or at least check out, Boot Camp Moms, PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There is lots of information and support for you in those groups.  Be sure to check out the Pages and Discussions.

My son left December 3 as well. Have you received his mailing address?

Be sure to check out the sites and groups mentioned above.

Hello.. Yes I did get his address last week but hoping for a letter or call from him. Their seems to be mixed results on when we can expect to hear from them.. Hope all is well with your son..:)

You should get a "real" letter this week since yesterday was Sunday and he would have had time to write for the first time.  See Phone Cards and Phone Calls and Letter Writing & Fun Stuff/Questionnaires to send to your Recruit within Boot Camp Moms to find out more on when you can expect contact from your recruit. (Each of those is a clickable link.)

im not a navy mom but a navy girlfriend. tyler left on dec. 3rd aswell.

Join the groups mentioned above--we welcome all loved ones.

Do you know his PIR date?  It will either be 01/25/2013 or 02/01/2013, so once you know the PIR date, join the group that matches that date by clicking on one of the following:  PIR 01/25/2013 TG 11 - 9 Divisions (069-076 and 911) or PIR 02/01/2013.

You may also wish to join Girlfriends, Fiances, and Wives of Sailors, Navy Girlfriends, and/or Boot Camp Girlfriends.
