Anyone have a son/daughter flying out for bootcamp August 18th?

Just picked up my son's box. When does it get easier. Praying for all of us. Now just waiting for the form letter.

OK- so I am starting to get a little nervous-- my son left on the 19th and we have not heard a word- no box, no form letter.  It will be one week tomorrow- should I be concerned or I am just getting ahead of myself....? I have read that it's OK to call his recruiter to get info but I don't really know if I want to do that....   Any thoughts/advice?

Thanks!!

Kevsmom, they have been trickling in everywhere, I am in North Carolina and received mine Monday, Proud of my Son's box arrived today, she is in next state over. I say if you don't have it in a couple more days definitely ask your sons recruiter, btw, mine that's in Bootcamp is also a Kev or Kevin ;-)

As a general rule, Recruits in bootcamp don't have first names. :)

Phew.... the box arrived late yesterday. One milestone down- a few more to go...!

Kevsmom, If he took a cell phone, someone will receive "the box." You can check with FedEx to see if a delivery is in the system for your address. The Form Letter comes an average of 10 days after the recruit's arrival at the RTC. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC. If you do get the address from the recruiter, don't send letters until you receive The Form Letter unless at least two calendar weeks have passed, which is not the case yet.

Thank you lemonelephant- the box arrived late yesterday afternoon so we definitely have some sense of relief. Now for the form letter-- we are all anxious to write to him and get info re: PIR date etc. Our mailman must think we have lost our minds-- as we practically tackle him when he approaches the house.  Hopefully soon!!

Day 7 and my son is still not in the system, has your children's recruiters also said this? I thought 4 days at most (that's what it used to be)
My son arrived at GL on Wednesday the 19th he left here on the 18th, that 45 second phone call was just not enough! Lol still waiting for his package or ship assignment (I have a letter for everyday since he had been gone) everyday brings me one day closer to seeing my son.(I'm gonna hug the oodle out of him!) lol I miss him but I'm bursting with pride.
