My son leaves from Boston Aug. 19. I am sooo not ready!
My son leaves from Houston Aug 18th and I'm very anxious as well! I think that I am more anxious right now making sure he has everything (even though it is very little that he needs to take) and getting him there/ everything going smoothly.
My sons flight was cancelled last night due to weather and they had to get a hotel again and flew out this morning. They were already mentally exhausted ehausted yesterday from not getting much sleep and I know they are very anxious to just get going. Praying that today will go well for them!
My son is at airport now waiting for flight from Boston to RTC. I am back to work trying to stay preoccupied- but no way!
Ditto for me. Trying to stay busy at work, but I'm on this website trying to absorb as much information as I can...lol. Do you know of any FB pages, etc that we can keep up with the day to day activities other than the US Navy Recruit Training command and Navy Recruit Training command Great Lakes?
I miss mine too Stephanie! Where did he leave from?
Stephanie my grand daughter left from Charlotte last night too.I Miss her terribly.
My baby girl left today. It is sad and quiet at home. Don't know what to do with myself. The more I read about her day today the more worried and sadder I get. Sounds like a rough first day.

I got the call this morning around 1:35. I can't even do my job. I am just sitting here crying off and on. When I got home yesterday after seeing him off at the airport I saw his truck sitting in the driveway and completely lost it. I got inside and did the laundry and just sobbed into his clothes. I don't know how I will make it through this. I really thought I was prepared. I just don't know how to be without him. I had to make my husband go put his clothes up and close his bedroom door. I know people around me are getting tired of all my posts on FB about my son but right now all I can think about is how much I miss him and how much this hurts.
