My boyfriend left for basic yesterday! He made his last call to me 9:18 pm and it lasted 18 seconds. I can't put my phone down!! I keep checking it for a text even though I know I won't be getting one!! He told me I could call his recruiter and get his address but I'm not sure how soon I can do that. I am soo anxious and nervous for him but excited too. I'm so proud but I miss him already! Did anyone else's boyfriend/fiance/husband leave Jan. 5?? I wonder when graduation will be!

Im  doing better. I get sad every once in a while but im gonna use this time to concentrate on me! The first day seemed to be the hardest but hopefully it'll go by fast! You?

That is good! I'm doing okay.. the first night was AWFUL. especially saying bye to him before he met with the petty officers at the chicago airport. He was so sweet. But yes I hope it goes by really fast! I miss him a lot already but it will all be worth it in the end!

Ik....i was sooo hopin we could spend time together on PIR weekend but im reading that they usually fly out that day or the next depending if their leaving or staying in illinois:( That made me sad but anytime is better than no time:)

If you know his contracted rate, many of us know where the schools are located.

My guy flys out on the 18th of this month... so he will be leaving me on the 17th. I have been okay with this all since we started fighting to get him a contract. Its right around the corner and now I dont want to let him go. I'm missing him already if that makes any sense. We spend soooo much time together. Im not looking forward to the time between him leaving and the first letter. I dont think his recruiter is going to be much help for getting his address early. :-(

I know what you mean about missing him already! For like the last 2 weeks he was home I was sick about him leaving and wanted to spend every second with him. just spend as much time together as you can now and reassure each other that it will be alright. The no contact thing is the hardest thing EVER. I'm so anxious and worried about him. Just want to hear from him and know he is alright! I know he is but still! I haven't called his recruiter yet about getting his address early but honestly it doesn't seem like it will matter much. The form letter with their address is supposed to arrive within 7-10 days of them leaving so I may just wait until then to be sure it is correct. I'd hate to send letters to an address and it be wrong and him not get them!

i totally agree, 5 days down so in the next few days the letter should come!

He isnt one of the "mushy" types. We are in our mid 20's and know each other since highschool, I met him through my ex (his best friend). Never thought I would end up with my guy. We both moved to different states after high school and he came to visit me for a weekend. After 2 days he knew he wanted to move here to be with me. From the time he stepped off the plane with nothing but a bag of clothes we have been together. We can talk about anything but he doesnt want to talk about what will happen after schooling, he doesnt know what is going to happen or where he is going to be stationed. I know where his prep and A-school will be. He is going in for diving so we have been told the chances of him getting deployed or stationed overseas are very slim. He Leaves next week and is already starting to "check out" mentally. He knows im here to support him and will write him even if he doesnt write back(I really hope he doesnt do that to me). I wish I could just fast forward through the next 11 months.

Does anyone know if he will be allowed to have his cell phone or computer while he is in dive prep in GL? I know he will be able to have it in A school.

nice i know how hard the first couple weeks are (im in the last week my bf is graduating Friday :D) every time i got a text or call i was hoping it was him but once i got that first letter it was so nice :), ur SR's recruiter cant give you his info because ur SR will be moving around he will have to send you his address himself ,i had to wait 3 weeks before i got mine ( it takes about a week to get to WA) along with they don't get time off tell Sundays or something like that i hope this helps a little :)

I called my boyfriend's recruiter today and he was able to give me his ship/division and address! He's Ship 09 Div. 076 :)  I feel much better just knowing this much! lol

My boyfriend left on the 5th to great lakes too! Its been so hard, but we finally received his things in the mail it made me cry even more since it was him minus his actual body. Please tell me this gets better. And I have a question. Does aabyone know if I should use the address that the box came with to send my letters or should I wait for my first letter.

We got his box today, too. It was hard to see all of his things just thrown in there :/   I hope it gets easier but I'm just trying to look at it like this :Each day that passes is one day closer to seeing him!  I'm not sure what address you are talking about that came with the box? His address will come in another few days to a week on his form letter. I actually called my boyfriend's recruiter today and got his address and ship/division
