I'm starting to feel like a complete IDIOT because I just can't seem to figure out how to do things on this site. Although I dont't really do any social networking (i.e. facebook, mayspace, twitter...) I like to think that I'm somewhat computer literate and not a stupid person! When I click to add someone as a friend, it doesn't do anything. Does the person I tried to add as a friend get an invite from me that I don't see? Am I supposed to get a message of pending friends? When I tried to send a message to someone who added me as a friend, the screen just sat there doing nothing and my inbox didn't show any messages I had sent. And why did a reply that I wrote to someone that replied to my discussion show up on my page as my reply to me??Everytime I click to do something (reply, add friend, send message...) the screen just sits there and so I try to click it again, and it lets me, but doesn't do anything! - not a confirmation, not go to another screen, nothing! What am I doing wrong!? I have searched in alot of discussions and even gone to the ning site but I just can't seem to find the answers I need or that I'm looking for. I would like all the wonderful ladies who took the time to reply to a question/discussion I posted know how much their quick and informative replies were appreciated! Some of their profiles are set to private so I can't leave a comment on their page and when i tried to leave a comment on the page of the ones that weren't private, it didn't show up!Would it just be easier for me to leave messages on the group page until I can get this figured out or what? ( If I can even get that to post!) What is it that I'm not getting/understanding? PLEASE HEELLLPPP ME ! I'M SOOO CONFUSED AND FRUSTRATED!!!! I would really like to get this figured out so that I can be an active participant in this site beacuse I really do think that is a wonderful site with alot of great members! I would appreciate any help I can get on this!
Sincerely .Julie (Shane's Mom)

Hello Julie! I am new to this iste too, so I'm not sure how much help I can be, but I will try. At the top of your page there are tabs labled MAIN INVITE MY PAGE ABOUT US MEMBERS EVENTS...etc.

MY PAGE- This is where you can view all of your activity.

GROUPS- This is a good place to look for groups that apply to you. In these groups you start talking to people and seeeing their comments on things. If you clip on their name, you can see their page and send a friend request. That way you can start having people to talk to. You can also post inside the group.

BLOGS- MY FAVORITE! just click on the tab an then on the little thing in the cornor to post a blog and start writing. EVERYONE sees your concern or what you have to say. This is the best :)

Hope this helps. Where is your son stationed. IMy sailor has a friend named Shane whose mom's name is Julie....so I may indirectly know you!
This comment below was the welcoming message posted on your page. Have you gone to the Welcome New Members blog and read the contents? Go to FORUMS, click on "How to do stuff on N4M. Welcome to N4M. Your key to adjusting is finding support groups – Click on the underlined links:
1. New Moms Stop Here group. Think of this group as your orientation station. We have experienced members who can answer questions and point you in the right direction.
2. Depper’s… in but not yet . is a group for those just waiting for bootcamp to start (Delayed Entry Program)
3. Boot Camp Moms group. Is your son/daughter already in bootcamp? This is the group.
4. OCS Graduate Moms or the NROTC Moms. For those going to be an officer or going to NROTC?
Read this blog on how to use the N4M site.
Welcome to New Members
Learn to use the “Search” function. Search in blogs, forums, discussions in previously posted threads BEFORE adding a NEW blog/discussion. Finally, it takes time to learn how to use this site. Be patient.
Check your page & status box regularly.
Best of luck, BunkerBee and AbbyblueOK (from the New Moms Stop Here Group)
Julie...to add someone as a friend you click on Add as a friend on their profile page...under their picture..then you can type in a personal message. Once you're friends (they have to accept your friend request) click on Send a message on their profile page (under their photo). You won't get anything in your inbox till they message you back. To see the messages you've sent go to your inbox and click on the sent tab. Beside of friends will be the number of friend requests you have. Beside of inbox will be the number of messages you have from your friends.

Make it a habit to check your page frequently , that way you will be aware of any comments left at the bottom of your page, friend requests and private messages left for you. Also if anyone has commented on any blog, discussion, group, etc that you started.
