Can't believe PIR is next Friday!!! Anyone know what we are able to bring to our SR's for their time following PIR at the hotel? I've read comfy clothes, cell, laptop, Xbox...... also..... what should we bring for them that they are able to bring to A School in San Antonio? I read something about a plain, black packpack for personal items? What personal items should we/could we bring of theirs from home that they will "eventually" be able to have at A School?
Thanks! :-)
Cahtyraz: my understanding is they receive a black backpack from the Navy and they can be given their laptop, phone etc. to take with them to A School at the airport.  I know that they can wear "comfy clothes" in the hotel, but if they go out anywhere they have to wear their uniforms.
hhey ladies spoke to my sailor today he said they fly out sat evening. Thought you ladies might want to know.
That is great news.  I like Saturday evening :)  Do we know what time?

My daughter just graduated friday! It was the most pride ive ever had! Ive never seen her smile so much! She told me San Antonio is very nice. She actually has a matress! lol She enjoyed Sunday and text me today to say she was getting briefed and hoped it would last long enough they wouldnt have to clean. lol im loving her having her phone and lap top now!

Not sure if you all have heard from your sailors - I assume you have.  Mine seems a little bored.  Classes don't start for a month.  Feel kind of bad for him.

Kris - my guy seemed to be doing just fine (went into SA for Alamo, River walk, etc), but I think he might have lost his phone the last couple of days. Either that or he's sick of talking to me. Seems like the 946 folks have been together most of the time.

Do you look at the HM A-School group at all?

I haven't looked at that group - maybe I should check it out.  Glad he's doing well.  Nice to know that they are able to stay together after everything they went through.

Joining the group a bit late, but just found the site! My daughter is also in San Antonio, currently training in the Medical field. Hope to hear some other stories of what is going on there! I know she was very frustrated at the delay to begin the classes but is enjoying the training now!

Also notice, you are connected to the same ship- My daughter was ship 11 div 322

Hello Racer and welcome my fiancé is also in San Antonio studying for HM.

Nice to meet you. I am so proud of these young adults and all they are acheiving. Wishing your fiance great success!
