I didn't hear from my SR any word on her A school orders. She'll be going to corpsman training. Her recruiter told her she'd go to GL (even though a few weeks before she left, he told her it might be San Antonio). I'm hearing thru N4M, that they're sending all corpsman to SA now. Either way- does anyone know how long we'll have with our SRs after PIR?

Besides that, I thought a discussion group of us with corpsman can share any info we get on that anyway. Come join in!

I know how you feel.  My SR's letters didn't start to come consistently until a week ago. Don't worry they are coming.

Don't get too bummed as I keep hearing no news is good news. I too love to read what others write as my SR isn't forthcoming with info like some of the other SRs are. We are have way done. We can do it. Keep you head up.
I called Sarge today (the guy a lot of women on N4M recommend for transportation, food, and entertainment resources)-he's awesome! Anyway, he said that USUALLY the guys going to TX leave out of Midway Saturday AM...so their families/spouses meet them really early in the AM (like 2 am) to spend some more time with them. Not sure if this will be the case for us...but I guess we'll find out! Hopefully sooner rather than later....
I also hope sooner rather than later.  I read while surfing N4M that the first division # is the first to fly out. My heart sank....my SR is in division 193.
Well, Rebecca, let's hope that we at least have SOME time to spend with them...rather than them getting on a plane immediately. :) Fingers are crossed!
Ladies, I'm bumping our discussion up again. I really hope they give our SRs a little more time to spend with us. I just hate the idea of spending half of the time we have (a VERY little time I might add) at the airport. Why can't they just fly them out on Sunday- they'll be ready to get started on Monday.....
I received a letter today and my sr stated that they would be going to the airport sometime on Saturday between 0100-0500, but don't know when there flight will be. We will all have to enjoy our friday's with them.
My SR is also going to corpsman school.  He said in his form letter that it was in San Antonio and hasn't told me any different.  I also hope we have more time with them but if I have to meet him at the airport at 2am then I will be there with bells on!! I did hear that it could be late morning early afternoon before the flights leave so hopefully they are not chartered so that we can go in and wait with them!

My daughter said the same thing about leaving on Saturday between 0100-0500 and her flight will be later in the afternoon.

teach2 - I am so with you on flying them out on Sunday. I'm so bummed that we have such a limited amount of time on Friday, but we will make the most of it.

I initially thought he'd fly out on Friday, so I'm really grateful I get ANY time with him. Of course I'd love all the time in the world, but I'm happy we will get some time with them on Friday. :)
I have been reading about more and more corpsmen in this PIR group. It got me wondering if they will be a chartered flight. What do you think??? I wish we had a count. (one can only wish....) Has anyone heard ANYTHING?? My daughter is clueless.
my sr said that they will know more the week of pir. I think we must wait and see.
