Just got news that my daughter who left for boot camp on April 7th is on Ship 6 Division 929.  Any other moms, dads, boyfriends, girlfriends, wives, etc., out there with someone in this group?

Yep, my son left MEPS on 4/6 and has a PIR of June 4th. He's also Ship 6 Division 929
Hi, Kathyjeanba. Have you gotten any mail from your son yet? I got the form letter saying their graduation is June 4. She said she's in a performing division. She'll be carrying flags and marching in graduations prior to their own. She said it will be more work, but it's making time fly by.
Yes, we did get a letter from him on Wednesday. His recruiter did tell me about the flags when I called to get his address last week. David also called it a performing division. Have you seen Joshuasmom's 06/04/10 PIR site?
She just got it up a couple of hours ago. It has a countdown clock, to the second. The thought of it in that term almost takes your breath away. Her son is also on the same ship/division as our kids. David started out by asking how I was doing and ended by telling me not to worry, that he's in good hands. Where is your daughter going for A school? Did you notice the cover of the activity flier in the form letter? I'm assuming that's what our kids are doing, flags, sabers...
My granddaughter also mentioned being in something before her own graduation...drumming I think. She was really inpressed with attending that Armed Forces Ball. Did the whole division go to that?
No, I haven't seen the 6/4/10 PIR site yet. I'll have to find it and bookmark it so I can check in on a regular basis. Yvette will be in A school right there at Great Lakes. She's AECF rating. I don't know if she's FC or ET yet. She didn't tell me -- mainly because I didn't know the difference befor she left, and didn't ask! How old is your son and where is he going to A School?
He's staying at GL too, so is Josh. Kind of weird, huh? I don't know yet what all of the initials mean but I'm getting there. David told me that he's doing electronics (ET?). He'll be 23 on June 2nd so we'll also be celebrating his birthday with him that weekend so I'm doubly pleased that he's not a Grad N Go. He was at the U of Arkansas. He was in the band so I'm sure all of his years of marching are serving him well now. The PIR group that Josh's mom set up it titled PIR 6/4/210. What does AECF stand for? (I'm going to have to get moving more tomorrow. If I spend this much time with N4M's every day I'm going to develop blood clots! It's just so nice to be on the same page with other recruiter moms. Wish I'd had something like this when he was a Hog freshman!)
Hello my daughter left April 6 and is in Ship 6 Division 929.
Mackenzie's Mom, welcome aboard! Try to find us on PIR 06/04/2010. Including you, so far, there are four of us with kids on the same ship/division. Joshuasmom has created a nice site with a local clock, count down clock and the weather for GL.
Hello. My daughter left that day also. She will also be 23, but on June 10th.So I will miss her b-day. She will be in TX.
Welcome aboard Makenzie's mom and Ashley's mom. It's nice to know that there are a few more young women in the division/ship with my daughter. You really need to go visit the PIR 6/4/10 group also. We have to try to get together at graduation if you guys are planning on coming.
We are coming to GL on Thursday night. Our hotel doesn't shuttle and dont know if we want the hassel of parking and all that.Heard taxi's are a little high, might try to find a hotel that does shuttle and catch a ride that way.Do we know what time the PIR starts?
According to the on-line Family Guide to Recruit Training, graduationg day starts as early at 6:30 with RTC main gates opening to visitors, 6:45, drill hall is open, 8:45 guests must be seated, 9:00 a.m. graudation commences, 9:20 Divisions arrive at drill hall, 10:30 Ceremony concludes with Liberty Call, and then the recruits have to be back at their "ships" by 2100 hours that Friday night. Not sure when liberty ends on Saturday and/or Sunday nights -- probably depends on whether they have watch duty or not. I haven't decided what hotel I'm staying at yet. I've heard the Residence Inn is good, and it has shuttle and free breakfast, etc. I will probably want to shuttle back and forth to the hotel. Don't want to hassle driving on to base, parking, etc. I'm not afraid of a little walking.

Have you gotten any letters from Ashley yet saying how she's doing? Of course, this week's letter is the one I can't wait to get because now they're really in boot camp and not just going through processing. They've definitely gotten into the nitty-gritty work now.

I hate this not being able to ask her things. Every letter I send -- and I've sent 5 already even though it's not been that long -- I ask questions, questions, questions. I'll be lucky if I get one or two answers!! lol. I know she's got other people to write to, too, so I just have to be patient.
