I was wondering if there are any other mom's who might have a daughter shipping out July 24th for boot camp? That is my daughters ship out date and I'm very nervous for her. More so because she is a female. My daughter and I are very close. I am not quite sure what I am going to do with myself after she leaves. She is the other half of my thoughts.

Thank you. Those links were very helpful. I really appreciate it.

Thank you so much for sharing that. It does give me something to look forward to. And I am very sure that will remind me why she is not with me. I'm proud of her and cannot wait to watch her graduate boot camp. Good luck to your daughter.

Modesto - I don't know if our girls will be in the same group, but my daughter leaves from Indy on July 23rd.  Where will your daughter be shipping from?  Since we live so close, my daughter will leave from Indy, I assume by bus, since it's only a 3-4 hour drive.

We live in Modesto, CA but I believe my daughter will be shipping out from San Jose MEPS. She is scheduled to report at 6am the morning of July 24. Very possible that they could be in same group. My daughter is hoping to get in contact with a few of the girls that are going so that she at least knows of one person that will be there with her. I'm still so nervous, but I know she is following her heart and I will support her every step. Good luck to your daughter.

Modesto - My daughter just found out yesterday they moved her ship date from July 23rd to July 24th.  Sounds like our girls will be enroute to GL on the same day!  Not sure of the timeframe, but she's to be at the Indy MEPS at 0430.  She told us to be at MEPS by 0930 if we want to see her off/swearing in.  She was at MEPS a couple of months ago doing her paperwork and she seen some recruits leave that day and she said it was mid-afternoon when they left Indy. I'm hopeful our girls' paths will cross. I know that would make me feel better, and her as well.  What a nervous time for all!

Hi, ModestoAngel,

My daughter is leaving from Texas by way of Shreveport, LA on July 25.  She is the only child and an only grandchild to me and my mother.   We won't know what to do without her being around.
