Welcome to the discussion group for division 821.

Be very aware when posting about your SRs who are in this division.  Make sure you read the OPSEC rules (everyone should).

sjtina and a couple more ladies will be joining you to answer your questions about this "800" division.  Although your SR is still in BC, what they are doing may be slightly different from what the other divisions in this training group are doing. It is also recommended that you go into your "settings" (clickable link on the right side) and change your privacy setting to "private" and change everything to friends only.

Please still use the main wall to post general questions, and concerns, such as meet and greet questions etc. Specific questions regarding the 800 division should be posted here.

We “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion groups as often as we would like to, and the ladies helping out with the 800 divisions don't always get to the main wall as often as they would like.

Every single question that is asked is important
Every single concern is genuine
Every single member is important to us
We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there ladies!!!

Haha, all of our letters talk about the clown beat down...makes me laugh so hard. Apparently they have been getting a lot of extra workouts lately. We got the same comment about the food being nasty, all he wants to do the weekend of graduation is eat real food.

I'm intrigued about the clown beatdown....I will have to ask my daughter in law about that one...the last letter I got was much shorter than hers. I'm really sick and feeling blue today, maybe tomorrow will bring a cheer me up letter....missing my SR so much and could use a hug from him....

Believe me you are not alone in missing your son,',I have many a sad day too just thinking about all he's going through now and whats to come.  I do know that he is very happy with his decision and that in  turn makes me happy too. My SR.  had never been away from home before aside from boy scout camp so I really thought he'd have a harder time adjusting but he seems to love all the changes he's going through and definately is maturing.  I asked him in a letter how he keeps a straight face when being yelled at by an instuctor, as this kid laughs at everything and he said he just bites his cheek.  I have a feeling he has a pretty big hole in his cheek right now!!!  We always end every letter or phone call (1) with we will see you soon  and every day we're one day closer!!!  Hang in There  O.K.

thanks, so many times I think that I am being silly in missing him so much. Had a dream last night that he called me, could distinctly hear his voice....My son has been away many times. He was in ROTC for four years and he did lots with them. Never has he been away this long with no contact. Like you it's hard to think about what he is experiencing and what is yet to come. I am proud and very happy that he is taking the path that he dreamed of. Best to you :)

I got a letter today!...It was very short, but I couldn't be happier right now, it is just what I needed.

I got a phone call tonight. It was great to hear from him. The phone connection was really bad and I couldn't hear all of what he was saying. How frustrating. Oh well maybe it will be better next time. I miss him and can't wait to see him.

so excited for you NavyMom!

Hello Everyone,

I am so glad to read the good news from your SR's. I've not received a new letter from my son for quite some time - and that worries me a bit. I am trying to focus on counting down the days until PIR - but...even a quick note would be very welcome. (I'm sure some of you can relate.) Thanks for sharing your updates - it helps.

Sorry to hear you haven't gotten a new letter....wonder if he's out of stamps or envelopes lol...MY letter was short, but he said they are very busy and he was looking forward to new and different things for the week....I will share if I get another letter in the next couple of days....23 more days til PIR hooyah!

Hello All,

I am new here and also a mother of a spec war candidate. My son has a SWCC contract.

We have yet to receive a letter, but we have had a midway phone call that was full of enthusiasm and we even received a bonus call on Sunday because he lost his wallet and needed his bank account info(some things never change).

I too would cherish a letter that I could read more than once. But, well, it sounds like not everyone has gotten the midway phone call so I guess we are lucky.

I would love to know if more of you have sons who have SWCC contracts and how old they are. The reason I ask is because our son will be turning 21 after PIR and I'm wondering if he is on the young side for SWCC.

Thanks in advance for any sharing you care to do! :)

my son will be 19 right after PIR....I think there is a mix of age...my daughter-in-law got a phone call today from my son....some business matters....she couldn't have been more thrilled...Hope I get a letter tomorrow...Chellita hope you get a letter soon...is your son's PIR 10/5?....Hang in there!

Thanks cmmom,

Yes, his PIR is 10/5.
